Things are moving forward slowly but surely! I have received the prototype PCB now, and will be making a panel to see if it all fits!

Cool.
Still, I've not yet been convinced to build one by the demoes I've seen of the MPS. Anybody have some good sound examples?

When this goes on sale, will it be these same type of knobs you're supplying for the full kit?
If not, where can these knobs be purchased, colors and all??

OT: Looks like this is my 1000th post! :nana:
And here I was in the past, wondering what kind of nerd/geek could post 1000s of messages here on MW..... :omg:

Oh well.... : :zombie:

You can get those knobs at Musikding.de and Smallbear or Mammoth in the US. They are my favs. Radioshack was selling the big version before they went under.

I think the thing to remember is that the MPS is just one voice, not a drum machine. Drum machines like the 909 might have something like 10-14 voices. If you have a drum machine already and it has something a bit boring, like the snare on the Volka Beats or the Rhythm Wolf, then adding a MPS could really liven things up. I think the Rhythm Wolf even has gate/trigger out.

You can of course use any knob you want here, as long as it fits on the shafts. And of course don't use knobs that are too big, thought the layout here has a very generous spacing, so you have a bit of margin. My suggestion is to use knobs of different colours for the different parts of the module, since that will make it easier to find the right control. Good ol' Davies knobs will work as well.

we have expected delivery dates for the panels and panel PCBs mid august. we may have full kits available in time for knobcon, depending on parts sourcing time leads.
we will post updates in this thread as the dates firm up

That looks terrific! :sb:

Will you be selling just the panel + daughterboard, for those of us with the MPS PCB already?

Hi,

I already bought the MPS PCB from Synthcube when it was released. I just need the panel, daughterboard pcb and the panel. i.e. just the panel kit. I was hoping that you would make these available with the components as I'm not sure how readily available the pots are gonna be in Australia?
