i got my parts from mouser yesterday evening, and my panel/bracket/jacks from bridechamber,
pots from small bear and my alco knobs from paul s. (motm) which came in some days ago.
too bad im missing a pot and three resistors needed to finish the project

so i spent a bleary-eyed evening getting most of the parts into the board.
this morning i did my first SMD work by hand as well. not too bad.

got the fuggin thing done! and im stoked.
i actually wired it up from the damn schematics and didnt majorly fuckup.
only one small thing to fix.
i actually enjoyed wiring up the panel this time. it was very meditative and i took my time.

woah that is a SERIOUS soubding phaser!!

good demo as well - the steady input lets us really hear what the phaser is all about rather than having it buried in a bunch of other sounds

that's.... really an intense phaser! i like it

sure thing. i like the phaser but im curious to compare it to others.
i want to hear what the stonz sounds like (wtihOUT buying one!--i cant keep doing that.)
the only thing i have close to this is the EVH flanger, but its not even a phaser.
i wont compare it to a digital phaser either. does anyone want to put up some samples of their phaser so i can compare? thanks!

here's the patch

VCO saw -> Stonz in -> Stonz out A -Tascam Channel 1 panned hard left; Stonz out B - Tascam Channel 2 panned hard right
lfo sine -> Stonz ext mod
2nd lfo sine -> Dual Linear VCA A -> Stonz Freq
1st lfo -> Dual Lin VCA B -> Stonz Regen

patch starts off with no modulation. then i bring in the Stonz internal lfo and tweak various parameters. Eventually I switch the Stonz from Pos to Neg and bring in the external lfo. then i mix the internal and external lfo's together. I then take mod depth completely dry and bring in the 2nd lfo to modulate the Frequency input. then i zero that out and bring in the first lfo to modulate the regen. the rest you can just figure on your own.

i kinda overdid it but i figured it'd be cool to see how much just a Sawtooth and a Stonz could do.

but i did have the res cranked up all the way too. i should back off and try again.
where was your regen set in these samples? was it ever cranked up to 11?

the regen was all over the map. i manually changed it quite a few times.

i cranked it up pretty far at some points but full regen is just self oscillation and would've gone beyond a simple phase demo. i sorta went overboard beyond simple phasing anyways though
