Yes, maybe.
The current box was chosen for it's very low cost and rugged construction. It is from Harbor Freight, and generally I wouldn't be comfortable recommending HF quality, but this little case is tough
http://www.harborfreight.com/11-1-2-hal ... 36870.html . What it lacks is a detachable lid and the interior fit and finish is less than first class. I thought about putting this out as DIY only, but these go together so fast that there really wouldn't be much cost savings.
The rail end brackets hold the frame together so any width could be made. The assembly is similar to this:

Since the supply is under the 1U section to preserve Euro depth, the rails have been milled to provide extra finger space.
