I finally tested my 'Bourns' 10 turn Pots.

I found that the 100K i got from a fellow wiggler only got up to 94.1K , so it's 5.9% out of spec.

I tested the 50k's i got off this ebay seller and remarkably they are only 1% off spec.

http://myworld.ebay.com.au/goodbuy7888/ ... 1439.l2754

They measured 49.5K.

I've attached photos of the pots close up , the 50K one on the left looks embossed and inked.

The 100K on the right almost looks branded with a hot iron.

Anyone think the 100K's could be clones or both of them ?

There are a few other shots of various areas on the body of both. It's hard to tell.

After looking at the Bourns Webpage , i think the 50K is the real deal.

But hard to tell. See here :

Here's the ones I got from Mouser. 100k:

50k:

I've got four pots altogether, each of them measured between 1.6 and 2.2 ohms CW. The 100k pots were all between 98.7k and 101k CCW, and the 50k pot was 49.7k CCW. So, pretty much all within 2%.

not good but I doubt that would matter for this use, even the commercially available versions don't use 10-turn pots, so it still should be a lot more accurate than a typical pot. I think it's the fine adjustment that's really important.

Great , i know what you mean about common household variety 100k pots.

I had an Alpha the other day that measured 84K !! :zombie:

That being said , i had never even thought of testing them in the past.

Sure thing!

Check the order instructions in the first post...basically I just need you to send me a PM or email with your Paypal info & shipping address. I'm going to give the pot group buy (oh man that sounds bad) another week or so...shipping is fast from Mouser so I'd like to give everyone who wants in a chance to get in.

Thanks! :tu:

Is this going to be the build thread ?

I have a few big questions about the PCB.

Firstly , where are the outputs on this board ?

I looked at the schematic and the board overlay , outs coming from R12 , R18 and R7 are connected to the 16 pin header at pins 3 , 4 and 14 respectively ; but i thought that 16 pin header was for Euro power input ??

Are there any wiring docs around ? I'm pretty lost right now. :deadbanana:

Actually that is a typo, I can understand your confusion - the board layout refers to that header as J2.

Yes , Cheers Blair.

I saw that this morning. Doesn't help does it ?

Here's what i've been banging on about :

Image

This explains the In's and Out's at the 16pin header.

As Blair said , reads as J2 on the Board. Not J1 as in this picture.

Hope this helps some other Wiggler.

Sorry for Highjacking your Thread Clarke68...

I'm going to crawl back in my hole now. :hide:

Art proofs are in, which means things are more or less on schedule:

I'll be contacting those of you who wanted pots/dials soon. Last time I checked, we had enough interest to get all of the pots (50k and 100k) for $12 each.

Yes and yes!

I heard from the manufacturer...the panels are done and are on their way to me. I expect I'll start sending them out later on this week, so it's time to make the 10-turn pot group buy happen. I've send invoices to the following people:

regenbot - 2 w/ dials
spotta - 4 w/ dials
prinsen - 4
zdarma - 4
Memory_Leak - 4 w/ dials

If you have any changes to your order (like you want to cancel, want dials if you didn't order them, etc.) just let me know and I'll either cancel or edit your invoice. Also, not to late to get in if you haven't spoken up until now.

If you've ordered a bunch of different panels from me, I will have everything in by the end if this week (J3RK faders, Thomas White LPGs, etc.) so no matter who you are, your order will be going out soon. Thanks for your patience!
