Subconscious Studios M15 and M37

Post by qu.one »

Holy WTF...

found this page completely by accident. it's not linked to the regular site and i hope they don't care that i'm posting it - but hey, it's the internet.

http://subconsciousrecords.com/model15- ... dules.html

"cEvin Key and Subconscious Studios are pleased announce a limited quantity re-release of the most sought-after oscillator in the Eurorack range - the Model 15 Complex VCO - along with the Model 37 ELF LFO/Utility VCO - both built via automation in the USA, both utilizing SMT technology, new features and new graphics, yet both at an old bundled price!"

Uhhhh....

I think the most obvious question here is is Peter involved or did he sell?

horrible design - just about the worst eurorack module design ever in fact = WTF?

But great if it is to be available again and not manufactured by...... well you know

I would seriously think about buying a couple to repackage in Serge or Bugbrand format

What's up with the haunted house theme? They look like they came from a joke shop.

Was hard to keep quiet about this, hadn't seen the panel design though to be honest. I guess just wait until the official announcement as there will be more info about them and what's going on.

Don't mind the graphics, don't love em. Would definitely be interested in the M15 although I would like to know what Peters involvement is before I spend any money...

"Plan B" is actually silk-screened onto both products.

I can't imagine anyone crazy enough to partner with Plan B. Hopefully, Plan B & all of its property were purchased outright.

I keep looking at this graphic and its getting worse each time

I think you will sell more if you make a plain panel version.

or go the whole hog and put cocks on it?

hmm, I like the graphics quite a bit... I have always liked Subcons graphic themes. The Elf LFO looks especially cool.

I do find it strange that one of my all time musical heroes is pairing up with PG...

Knew this would happen sooner or later- when Peter last posted about licencing he seemed to be wanting a hefty upfront payment per design (several thousand) plus royalties plus retaining the rights; a model which struck me would only be viable for a manufacturer licencing the "jewel in the crown" designs-these ones. And roll on the inevitable 3rd party faceplates :hihi:

(edit-other thread made my guessing redundant)

I dont know I still have my original Model 15 and I am not a Goth but this isnt so bad, prefer the original look.

Use to be a huge Skinny Puppy fan but you get interested in other stuff as time goes on. An autograph from Cevin Key is more scary than the M15 artwork :-)

But more than anything its great that Laurie (Elby Design) may get paid back the money owing to him by Peter Grenader.

Feel like making some custom panels?

I really dislike designs that act to impede one's understanding of functions and settings. This is one of those designs.
