E340/E350 DIY kits available for immediate shipment

Post by paults »

I have finished making up the E340 and E350 kits. Those who have placed orders will see 'happy emails' by tomorrow.

I have 2ea E340 kits and 3 E350 kits not spoken for.

They are $250 US, $275 foreign. They DO NOT include faceplate, pots, jacks or knobs. That's the DIY part. Free shipping.

Please email me at synth1@airmail.net if interested.

a) all kits sold, thanks

b) I wil have more in about 6 weeks. I am making another 200 of these modules, buying parts this weekend. Takes ~ 2 weeks for parts to arrive, 3-4 weeks for the assembler to SMT place & solder, 1 week for me to organize them.

I usually set 10ea aside from the 200 sets for the DIYers, rest are made into full modules.

The E340s took longer this first time, I had work/family issues and moved, got laid-off from RIM but hired yesterday by TI. What a world......

My E430 kit came yesterday and I built it today. :sb:

I made one wiring mistake, reversing the top and center wires on the CHAOS pot. Before I figured it out and fixed it, the module seemed a little more chaotic than I expected, especially since turning the pot all the way down resulted in little else but noise from the output. :hihi:

Haven't had enough time to put up a post on pugix.com. Will do it soon.

Richard, do you have a 5U panel design for the E340? Sorry if I missed it.

The FPE panel I used for the E340 is similar to the one for the E350.

Same 1U layout, but instead of the second toggle switch I have an attenuator pot for the Spread CV input.

The build was almost identical to the E350. I made my own bracket this time and used different pots. This time I used #24 stranded for the panel wiring, which is just physically easier than #22, because of the cramped space.

Is that a four-pin power supply? I thought it would be a MOTM six-pin jack (in addition to Euro ribbon).

I've finished both my E340 and E350 in 5U format. I've put photos for each on their own page.

You'll have to DIY that! There is also an expander panel for euro.

Maybe I should propose that if I can get 30 people to pay $100 deposit, I could run these as 'real' products and not DIY.

PM if you are up for it (DO NOT SEND $$$ just ping me).

You mean the attenuators and jumper to front panel, Paul?

Laser Display

Post by davebr »

I decided I needed a laser for my Morphing Terrarium. I have my first pass prototype working but I still need to make a few mechanical tweaks.

I put some photos and a video on my laser page.

That looks awesome.
If the video frame was centered it would be even better.

Lazers have no way of doing a Z input, do they?
...as in vector scanning I mean.
