Exactly, sorry guys we run out of space for the labels.
I think the documentation should be improved!

I was on the fence during the crowdfunding, but something changed my mind and I decided to preorder. Really glad I did. This thing is fantastic. It is so much fun to use and the learning curve is very slight. I can't wait to see what else it can do with future firmware updates. :hail: :yay: :goo:

Mine has arrived and, if I'm honest, I feel as if I need to become a better person to use it properly 😂

I briefly wired it up to my Mac (bc it arrived when I was working), appeared to set it up as a midi instrument on Logic Pro (tbf I don't use Logic at all, I have it for legacy reasons, I'm all OTB I have no fuckin idea what I'm doing), it triggered F# three times, in varying octaves, no matter which 'kb setting' buttons I pressed, and then crashed (all lights went static). Happened three times, then I stopped!

I've just finished marking, I should probably go upstairs and use it for its actual purpose (OBVIOUSLY modular) 😂

Fantastic feel to it! Woof.

Haha, there are a lot of things to learn, like with any deep sequencer, but don’t worry, it is very quick to get started. You definitely do need to read the manual, at least the Set up the cv/gate outputs first. I used a multi type sequencer to get started so I could see all the modular tracks at once.
Have fun.

Absolutely love it. I’m shite at everything, this is the closest I’ve come to making music.

Once I’d taken three hours to work out that it’s silent bc I hadn’t allocated the cv and gate outs, that is 👀

Right, I'm going to do what I've been meaning to do for the last three days, and go upstairs and use it on my fenixes 👀 Can't help but feel this is a gamechanger!

just got mines in. at work, so won't be able to set her up till tonight or the weekend, but MAN this is a SOLID piece of kit. layout reminds me a bit of the Deluge, but less shortcut intensive?

super wuggly to dive in.

also, that was FAST shipping. took 2 days i think to the US?

I couldn't test it but an Ansible user told me it works with it as well.
Then I wonder what I‘m doing wrong as my Ansible does not recognize Oxi when in Grid mode.

the OXI demo of the Stochastic Mode is great. that and the intelligently laid out and very intuitive interface makes the Stoch Mode a blast to play with. i went through 3 or 4 euro Stochastic sequencers and while they all had admirable qualities, this is what i've always wanted in a controlled random sequencer. very smart, VERY fun.

a simple run with the Stochastic sequencer going into a HydraSynth, a Chord mode sequencer into a Super 6, some drums sequenced and triggered in Ableton -

The case scenario you are describing is currently possible, since you can send MIDI to the iPad over Bluetooth, have Oxi One connected to the laptop running Ableton sending MIDI transport (clock) and have all the cv outs to your modular rack, all tightly synced.
Is there a trick to get Oxi One to sync well with iPad over Bluetooth? Being able to use it wirelessly was a big reason I made the purchase, but I'm getting a lot of lag and missed notes.

Using AUM to route Oxi One to a variety of iOS synths (Synth One, VHS Synth, etc). At first I thought maybe the iPad was too old/slow (10.5" iPad Pro from 2017), but reset the entire iPad, and it's zippy for everything else. Then I tried on iPhone 12 Pro Max and its just as bad.

I bought a USB to midi dongle, and the midi timing through that is perfect, but then the iPad needs to be plugged into a wall charger to avoid the "this device uses too much power" error. Having to be tethered to a wall charger is a huge bummer.

Would a newer iPad make a difference? Something else I'm missing? Again, it's not just a bit of latency, it's completely unusable - lots of dropped notes and completely drunken timing, etc. Does anyone have it running completely wirelessly with an iPad with successful results? If so, which model of iPad? Thanks!

A few things:

iPad's Bluetooth handling (iOS in general) is to blame in this case. You can try other devices as a computer and it works way better.
That said, my personal experience with iPad Pro 11" 2021 is that while there's a bit of latency and definitely not good for live uses via Bluetooth, for casual jamming is more than good, no note dropouts. With the same iPad, a regular USB C to USB C cable can connect OXI's 32 usb MIDI channels (split on two devices) to the iPad, way more reliable and there's no power consumption warning either that makes the need to plug it to a wall adapter.

I assume you use a lightning iPad. A lightning to USB dongle (like the CCK, but some 3rd party one can work too) + a cable with the power line cut would work. I think it's easy to DIY using the cheapest cable around, haven't tried it myself though!

CME WIDI uhost is another solution to consider that has given great results, since it's the one handling the Bluetooth and not the iPad itself.

Hope it helps!

Thank you Carlos - one quick follow up question...

For CME WIDI uhost - do you mean having the uhost plugged directly in (physically) to the iPad? And have that connect to the OXI's BLE?

You'd have to double check as I don't know entirely how the product works, but I think that's how it is: plug uhost directly into the iPad.
You can message CME for specifics, he's been in contact with OXI as both products complement each other.

Thanks. All I meant is checking that you meant to connect the Uhost to iPad, not to connect it to Oxi's usb/trs.
