New A series Modules

Post by synthmaker »

Hi,

Here is what the new A series modules will look like.
I am just sorting out the panel order now so it won't be too much longer now.

Regards
Bruce

Wow, the buttons on the 66A look rather tight. Very nice to see the A series playing catch up though!

Cheers,

Damn! A vocoder. I had been hoping for a high-quality DSP vocoder module. Thank you.

Amen to that, I've been wondering if a DSP modular vocoder would ever surface. Is the 71A also going to appear in the B-series lineup?

i doubt functionally the tightness would be anything but an asset. it is nice to have the button extremely close by particularly if you are drawing a tight shape to be re-triggered.

Wow. And a vocoder too. Nice layouts, all single width. Thanks for the pix!

No but pretty close. As far as I know it's always been grouped with the 5u stuff on this forum.

Nice to have the opinion of someone who's actually used one. That's one of the modules I've looked forward to seeing in the A series. I may start filling up my little Modcan A case sooner than I thought.

Cheers,

My bank account trembles with anticipation. Nice designs!
bsmith: it would be awesome to see people with lots of euro give them pokemon values and do battle

Glad you like the layouts. Sorry to have neglected the A series for so
long. It wasn't because I wanted to just was so jammed up with B series orders for so long. I have attached the proposed B series Vocoder layout.
Vocoder is 10 band 4 pole filter design coded for DSP by the mighty Eric Brombaugh.
The spacing on the Control module is because I want to use the B series board
which is a single U width spacing. I haven't heard any complaints so far from users and means it could probably be operated one handed as well.
I admit it doesn't look as nice as it would spaced out a bit more.

and yeah, 'control' feels gorgeous as it is. never once i have i wished it was spaced in any other fashion. you guys will LOVE it.

Bruce, its just unbelievable all the development you do! You are side by side with the great legends if you ask me. So much possibilities for great sound design now. And a lot of that is because of you. You make me glad i was born.

so glad that somebody else is saying this and not me. his offerings are ridiculously awesome. i have devoted my entire modular system/space to his designs and never has it felt/sounded/performed/looked better. we are just so lucky to have you bruce!

How intelligible is the speech with 10 bands?

I only have a preliminary mp3 of the Vocoder to listen to.
It doesn't have any of the envelope or squelch features added
in this sample. Still you hear they are talking about the Chilean miners.
