it's a 2MU lizard module, with voltage-controlled hiss response.

I like David's guess. At least the play on "gate." With the tagline "see you later," if we were taking the pun to the hilt it would certainly make me guess gate delay.kindredlost wrote:Gater.![]()
Something to do with gate control (again)? The obvious trend for Moon is to control timing and voltage. Gate delay?
Cheers,

I have one of STG's dual gate delay/slew limiter modules and it is very nice but rather 'tweaky' and not so easy to dial in exact delay due to it being really just a straight up pot amount. I'd never trade it though. I've learned to love it for all sorts of fun things.
Roger Arrick has mentioned he would make a cv savy gate delay (if he were ever to make one). This DotCom speculation is just as hazardous as the one from Moon.
I wonder just how much control over gate delay, length and (possibly) polarity bias would be included if Gert got a design out? My guess (strictly that of course) is that it would have a lot of really clever options, coming from the design philosophy of the other modules. I could imagine hard time delays like a divider again along with length and multiple routing possibilities. Of course I have a feverous imagination and no design skills whatever.
None of us are probably right about this athough it's fun to speculate.

I was thinking the same...that it wouldn't be a straight-up gate delay, but something that is conceptually aligned with the design of both the trigger sequencer and clock divider.kindredlost wrote:I could imagine hard time delays like a divider again along with length and multiple routing possibilities.
I don't know what that might actually mean either...but that's why Gert designs these things and guys like me don't. ;-)

That is probably correct in some ways. If you consider the normal concept of a gate delay usually means delay of the start time only. If the gate source ends then the delayed gate ends too. A divider like the 554 reacts the same.
In some examples I've worked on with various modules using a gate that is delayed regardless of whether the source gate is still on or not is something entirely different and fairly difficult to do with the conventional classic modules. A true delay.
I made a demo using three EG's a Q961 Interface, Q147 Distributor, Q125 Signal Processor and a multiple. The effect was to have a delayed gate only after the key-on event finished. At first this might seem elementary (just invert the end of the gate) but how do you end the continuous delayed gate? That was where the Q961 was helpful.
This entire enterprise is the domain of digital and could be a very cool device for 5U land.
Here is a video of the example...

Hey David. I'm not getting any sound from this. I've tried YouToob as well. The video has no sound. Is that the way it's made?
