Question about fatar maxtrix

Post by Kevin Mitchell » Fri Sep 06, 2019 9:17 am

I'm working on a scanner/controller circuit for fatar keybeds. I'm hoping someone can confirm my suspicion about the TP/9S 44 keybed. I can't find the matrix sheet so I drew one up. Knowing the 44 key version will need 20 pins I figured they set it up similar to their 88 type keybeds and just moved the MK & BR tabs on to the bottom instead of using a larger or additional micromatch. Economically it makes sense.

If it is indeed correct that means I can use the same micromatch connector for 3 different keybeds, the 25, 37 and 44.

Hope someone can help!

44 ? 4-octave is 49. Do they make 3,5 octave model too?

Umm Model D?
They make 25, 37, 44, 49, 61, 76 and 88. The connectors for the 1st two are the same - 20 pin micromatch. I’m hoping the 44 is just as I’ve drawn out - similar to their 88 key one.

I dont know, might still be worth looking into. I recently received a new 49 with a so far unknown micromatch matrix layout

I haven't seen 44 key versions for sale anywhere. Maybe a custom job for Moog?

25&37 have 1x 20pin and 49&61 have 2x 16pin. 88 2x 20pin. No idea what 44 is. Some repro Minimoog owner should look inside and share pics.

Just asking for the matrix sheet so I can be sure I have the micromatch pins correct. May have to wait until I have one in hand to test out
