Buffered Mult stripboard

Post by modularplanner »

Hi,

I've laid out this stripboard for the buffered mult schematic from MFOS here. As I've never done anything like this before could someone spend 5-10mins to check and tell me if what I've done is totally wrong or not

It's the non attenuated version on the right of the schematic.

I haven't checked the circuit but you'll want to put some sort of supply bypass capacitors on there.
A 100n from pin 4 to pin 11.
Maybe a 10uF 16V electro from each of the supply lines to ground(watch the polarity)

Cheers,

Instead of those 2 wires from the CV input to the op amps on the opposite side of the chip from the connectors, why dont you just NOT cut the traces under the IC. it will save you work twice :)

and you could save more wire, and make the feedback path shorter and better by doing this.

white blocks show where the traces have been cut.
black x are wires you dont need, and i added some little purple ones.
and yeah, add some capacitors. at least 0.1 u between power and ground.

Many thanks for checking that over, and the optimisations :yay: now to order a couple of IC's.

Here is the cleaned up layout.

audio?

Post by Blinkar blå »

Stupid noob question:
Could/would you use this as an audio splitter, or is it CV only?
Nothing to read here.

It will work fine for audio or CV

That looks a lot cleaner, smaller, and easier for you to build!
I would just make one more change which is try and put both capacitors right next to the IC

by the way is that a program that puts components on stripboard? it could be quite handy!

The upper output is not buffered. You need to solder the red wire to pin 2, rather than pin 3.

It's a Java app -- should run fine on macos.

Oh, sweet. I'd been poking around for a buffered multiple circuit. Thanks!

So I just got an order for a couple of buffered multiples from a customer last week... making this a very timely thread. I will probably lay out a simple PCB for the circuit & will no doubt use some of the knowledge in that other thread - thanks for the link.

Looks like maybe sharing that PCB via a group-buy would be helpful?
