October 29 2019 Update:

Hark, Radio Listeners! When this project started, the idea of it occupying a day of radio space was one of its final goals. I'm very pleased to mention that will now happen — in two separate airings, one at midnight and the other during the workday — on Denton Texas' wonderful freeform station KUZU.
ETHAN PERSOFF’S THE BUREAU
WORLD RADIO PREMIERE | KUZU 92.9 LPFM - DENTON, TEXAS

KUZU and WOODS is proud to present two broadcasts of an epic nine-and-a-half-hour sound experiment by Texas artist, musician, and historian Ethan Persoff.

TWO NOVEMBER BROADCASTS ON KUZU 92.9 FM & KUZU.FM

SATURDAY: NOVEMBER 09, 2019 AT 11:55PM-9:30AM
THURSDAY: NOVEMBER 14, 2019 AT 08:55AM-6:30PM

THE BUREAU is a comic book and sound project that asks participants to consider a simple question: How are you spending time in your life?

Specifically, it is a soundtrack of nine and a half hours, scoring music for every moment of an entire day of work.

In its first-ever airing on radio, KUZU will provide a free download of THE BUREAU book in PDF created by Persoff with illustrations and notes for each track played during the broadcast.

The 88 page comic book includes instructions on how to participate. The soundtrack and story include a performance evaluation, a complete real-time thirty-minute meeting, and other office-based madness, including your very own cut-out "Existential Vacuum". In addition, the download will include a company ID badge, parking lot assignment, and human resources forms. Persoff will also narrate portions of the soundtrack throughout.

For more information and a free download of THE BUREAU book visit KUZU.FM on the day of broadcast.

New daily audio series: "THE BUREAU" (Comics and Music)

Hi, all - HAPPY NEW YEAR. Starting today is an audio series called "THE BUREAU" that I'll be posting daily on this thread, often with accompanying comics panels.

All of this is either modular work (5U or euro) with additional full synths/organs/drums/loopers, other electronics.

Here's track one, "8:55am, THE UNCONSCIOUS RIDE IN THE VAN", with track two posted tomorrow.

Thanks for listening, Ethan P

Hi, all - Our live video stream is up and running right now: https://live.kickstarter.com/ethan-pers ... o-marathon - check in through the day for a lot of loud noises and other electronics.

Feb 18: Hi, everyone, this has been a good week for the campaign - We're around 200% funded and I'd like to introduce a fun flex goal for the final ten days. Hire me as your employee in the Bureau Dept of Noises! More information here:

----

Feb 12: Ended the day yesterday to see this very cool write-up from Synthtopia, my thanks! - Particularly for their phrasing of the book as a 'sonic comic' - that's awesome and very clever. I've loved Synthtopia as a daily read for years, thanks so much for the post on the project.

Still around 20 days to order a copy, if interested. Many fun rewards added yet to be applied. Info at: http://www.ep.tc/kick

ON AIR RIGHT NOW - LIVE - The Bureau on Kickstarter

Hi everyone!

A genuine thank you for supporting this project through so many iterations and daily posts. Now, 400 days later (or so) I'm finishing up the project with a book and music fundraiser on Kickstarter. This is to pick up a full download of the 9.7 hour soundtrack along with a really nice looking printed book.

Here's a shortcut link to the campaign: http://www.ep.tc/kick

Full Kickstarter link is a little trickier to type out:

The video for the project (posted below) shows the recording studio and other details about how the music got made.

Thanks - E

Thanks, gis! Sorry, I should be more clear - "Comic Book Panels", meaning art for each track is also meant to be part of a comic book page. Here's the first four as page one:

Here's the next track, which narratively (and humorously) follows "Dreaming of a Life without a Job":

Hey, Thank you lisa! I really appreciate that.

If I get this completed, it should be around 200 tracks which'll be a full day of music (in real time) - along with a fifty page comic book.

Here's today's track and panel, for play at 9:26am:

Thanks so much, lumena! I genuinely appreciate that. Cheers!

Here's the beginning of the second disc (Or beginning of the second scene, I suppose) - I sort of want part of this to be an entire real day at a job (minus a few surprises) so here's part one of "The Morning Meeting", which should be a full thirty minutes.

rishin: Thank you, in return! I truly appreciate that. You're in for a really good ride, too! :w00t:

I'm starting to put together a proper page for all the panels and music to present nicer at http://ep.tc/bureau or http://ep.tc/the-bureau (both work)

Working on a good way to embed the soundcloud files with the panels and will start posting photos of some of the equipment involved, all that.

More music from the Morning Meeting tomorrow around 9:45.

Thanks all for the comments, and for listening.
