Check out his stuff here. Much of it is pretty damn good.

Although I tuned out on The RHCP after "Blood Sugar Sex Magik" I've always liked Frusciante and have followed his rather spotty solo efforts over the years.

He recently uploaded a bunch of his Renoise-based tracks and other noodlings to Soundcloud.

What are your thoughts on this simultaneously tragic and inspirational man?

Thanks for the pointer.
Some really good stuff there.
Prefer him over RHCP any day.
Those Renoise tracks are just wonderful.

PS: Belated congratulations on your 10k posts!

Genius. Especially liked his release last year ("Enclosure").

I misread the post title as him giving away his equipment, which wouldn't be entirely surprising.

Thanks for the heads up! Really keen to check this out. Absolutely love his Letur-Lefr EP from a few years ago.

Thanks for the heads up. There is some great stuff to download on that page...
Here is a link to John's page explaining his reasoning behind releasing music that is free to download. I love the line "Yet musicians who aim at becoming or remaining popular have gotten into this stupid habit of attempting to give the public “what it wants”."
