TUMBADORA (CR8000 conga) board sets and panels. anyone?

Post by falafelbiels »

hey guys,

so I presented this in the gloat thread earlier, a funny little thing that just so happened to work right away, how 'bout that huh?

Tumbadora, CR8000 congas (to go with that Clawbell you just finished)

I am slowly taking that CR8000 apart, drum by drum, making 4hp preset drum sounds out of them if possible.

These Tumbadora are full on 0805 SMD except for the electrolytics and some obvious stuff. I thoroughly don't enjoy soldering SMD electros so I spare me and you the hassle. There is not too much on there and definitely nothing special (well, maybe the pushbuttons).

run these with a 4ms RCD or some euclidean contraption and they will groove your set up for sure (like in that noisy demo)

So who wants to build this?
These will go for €15 a PCB set and €5 for a panel (ex VAT).
I charge €3 P&P worldwide.

Panels will be either wood, or "ivory" perspex as in the piccies above.

will be posting a BOM shortly, but really it isn't much. (done added that)

I ran out of the first ten of these real quick and want to order some more soon. Who's up for it too?

they are 3 separate voices using these T-bridge oscillators so I guess it can be done easily by swapping some resistors with pots.
I like them like they are right now but when I get new boards in I will have a go at it.

Okay I am going to try something new for me with this so you all might have to bear the consequences. Won't be too bad and the price will go down so yeah. I think it can hardly go wrong.

Still confident? Cool.

I am going to have these made on one board with a slit through the middle so you can break/ cut them in two. New to me, nothing new to the world however. Also I am going to order tonight and more than enough to accomodate this run plus some.
