Using the Assblaster as a monosynth
In this demo, I make an attempt to use the Assblaster as a monosynth by controlling the VCO and the VCF by CV from my ES-3. I then routed the out through an A-131, taking an envelope CV from the ES-3. I tried several different settings trying to get the VCO to tune but then I gave up and loaded a Hz/V profile. The MIDI notes to play that little tune actually span something like five octaves. It was fun to mis-use this way, though, and I'd think further attempts to tune it are in order. I need to spend a lot more time with Silent Way in general.

Congrats, you've just discovered something that no one else evidently has: there's a "parasitic" synth voice in the KV. Mind you, I doubt it will play in tune, no matter which Silent Way setup you use, because of that shitty thyratron on the VCO. But it's fun to try, and people won't believe you when you tell them....
I did some experiments recently with the filter, and I found that it tracks pretty well. With Silent Way using Hz/V, I get five octaves.
Here's what the waveform looks like in Cubase (maybe inverted):

This is what it sounds like:

I then patched it into my Mono Lancet and disabled the Lancet's VCOs to use it in a synth voice:

It's really useable this way, and has an unusual timbre. Fun!

I generated a new calibration file this evening after a 12-minute warrm-up. Silent Way calibrates successfully with either V/Oct or Hz/V. The visual depiction of the calibration data appears exponential.
Here's the file:

Now, somebody else should play with it! It makes an interesting VCO. Try it out!
