Last bits: Le Seq in black

I have 2 x Le Seq black panels which will allow me to build 2 x Le Seq rev 2.2 with the last boards I have. The panels are not perfect and have some marks, but better than nothing. I'm not ordering new blue panels and I thought I'd mention here in case someone is interested in getting one of these.

I was lucky enough to pick up one of these last Le Seq. I had picked up Robert’s blue Frac OA and Radio Music as well, but initially passed on this little gem and its expander. Its very handy to have a straightforward sequencer in my Bug rack, but also a stable clock source - don’t have to sacrifice an LFO or envelope to clock within the rack!

It almost ended up a disaster - I unpacked the Le Seq and set it atop a pile of books, still in its bag and packing. But my cat was running around in the night and knocked it loose. It fell about 4 feet and I heard a snap. Turns out it landed on the power connector - the little white tab on the MTA connector broke off. It still powers on and works fine, but the connector is wobbly without the tab. An easy fix though - even I should be able to solder on a new one.

Post a pic. The plastic part on the mta connector is held on only by friction and can be removed by gently tugging with some pliers. You can can then push an unbroken one over the pins without desoldering anything.

Like soup said. It's possible to remove the white plastic and replace only this part.
I can take it off of a MTA and send it to you of course if you need.
Better IMO than having to replace the all part.

Thanks guys - I think I still have the plastic tab in bag somewhere. I assumed it had broken off, but I’ll pull the module out this week and see if I can snap it on if its not broken. I was just gonna pick up a new MTA connector at some point but this sounds like an easier (potential) fix. Glad I posted about it.

Looks like a part of it broke clean off. Its working for now so I think I’m good. I occasionally do an order from Mouser, so I can just pick up a replacement or two then. Or maybe the next time I order something from you - or Tom , you could toss one in.

Sure - just remind me when ordering.
Use a small flathead screwdriver to prise up the remaining white plastic bit - obviously being careful of nearby traces. Once it is a little loosened, you should be able to remove it with pliers, then just put the replacement plastic bit on in place & push it right down.
