I’ve built many custom cases or sent diy parts for some international famous guys /big studios,cool MW passionate musicians:

I ve designed some customs pcbs ,buchla pcb,208 module card 12 ,the PMB preset manager box for the 208. OS is almost finished.

Today,i build always new things,if you need something,pm me.
the next one is a special skiff 8U for a famous musician.
the cases in the pics are always available.

upgrades i ve done for the buchla 203
New small HQ psu with each rails isolated ,2U/4U
-the 200e i2C clock/data busses but also the preset/firmware cards are fully supported this port is available ,
diy complete kit,easy to build,or only some parts :boats ,cheeks ,advices for adapted power supply -24v/24 for old modules possible ,200r,200 e exotic... 6 edge connector for buchla upgrade firmware implanted ,tinnermanns,distroboard,little hardware,blank panel ,or i can built one for you .



Upper boats new design cheeks, they sit well,dont move when plug/unplug (patching)
Anodised aluminium against scratches ,and uv attack .
200e psu upgraded for big cabinet
200e port for preset card
222e/223e cutout port
225e/275r etc cutout

Hey there,
I’m literally brand new. This is my first post. I was sent here by someone who I’m hoping to buy a Buchla 252e off of. It will also be my first module. I figured I’d pick one up before they become super scarce if they haven’t already. But the reason I come is because I don’t have a case and the gentleman told me that someone who goes by the name of boops makes the best Buchla cases this side of the Mississippi. I hope I’m in the right place and I followed all the rules for posting.

There are a lot of nice things to be said that may not be common knowledge about Boops’ cabs so here are a few extra pics and some just for fun:

Really nice quality NOS card edge connectors. About as nice as the Hirose types I really like:


Cutouts in the boats for lug IDC connectors, for modules like the 222/3e brains:


My assistant tech, checking over my plans for a small umbilical cable to employ Doug’s bus isolator (were approved, eventually):


Doug’s bus repeaters and isolator hooked up (just to say, these were employed out of personal choice and preference - they are not mandatory in this cabinet or any others, of course):

General comments:
Boops was really great to deal with, fast in comms and always advising throughout the speccing process. He worked very quickly and to the timescale he set out. The black paint is really durable and smooth and nice to the touch; for me the finish is much nicer to the one on Buchla supplies boats.

There are different versions of boats with different cutouts depending on their position - bravo!

I had always preferred the look and design of the modern e series Buchla cabinets, thinking these 203 style ones looked dated and not so secure but wow I was wrong! They are lovely in person and very stable without the clunky metal and wood fold out appendages on said Buchla e series cabs. I’m glad I got past my hang ups and went ahead!

Thank you Boops and a quick shout to Doug also, who helped bring the dream alive via the bus repeaters and isolator. Doug was equally a pleasure to deal with!
