*VIDEO* Erica Synths - Dtech VCF

Post by ben_hex »

A new filter from Erica Synths based on the Polivoks filter. It has unrivalled control with a cut off slope control and also a resonance response control. So your cut off can have a flat curve or a more steep and aggressive reduction of sound above (above in low pass, around both sides in band pass) the cut off point. With the resonance response curve you go from a flat resonance response to Polivoks. There's also resonance CV, cut off CV and a secondary CV with attenuverter and crossfader to select whether it affects resonance or cut off or both as you fade around the knob.

Great filter!

Totally OT but Ben are you by chance demo'ing any of the SSF/WMD modules? It would be very interesting to get your perspective.. particularly that MOSFET stuff and the filter in particular
look up!

Hey Ben_hex, you should really start monetizing your videos! You put a lot of time into them (which is apparent), and you should be somewhat compensated for your time. Do it! :)

He already "somewhat" has--click the first link. If that counts as "monetizing." While I also really appreciate the videos, I don't think I'd watch them behind a paywall, or if they were full of ads, so apart from the donation option (which is a real option, people!), I don't think there's much commercialization to do.

Why wouldn't you watch them? You know the (a portion at least) money is going to him, you know he works hard to get these videos out, surely waiting a minute to watch a video is tolerable.

Thank you, Ben!
Sorry for extensive amount of controlls, but we wanted to design an ultimet VCF. :)
Yes, that's a DIY project, and a kit will be released next week.
It's 2 PCBs, skiff format, 35mm deep.

Keep in touch!

Wow that's great. I was just about to order a Polivoks VCF kit but I definitely want this one. What's the price on the kit?

euxine cheers!

I'd love to be doing demos for them but nothing at the minute Dogma fingers crossed :hihi:

Kummer & JES - I've thought about monetizing but I don't think I have the views for it to be worth while. There's ideas such as no monetization for a week or two then add it once the video has been up a while. But that's daft as it would miss the initial bump a new video gets. As JES said I have Patreon link for anyone that wants to donate. I wasn't into that idea at first but someone said just think of it as a way for me to buy a beer or coffee once or twice a month to say thanks for helping with his module purchases. It's there if people want to use it but I aren't pushing. Tricky topic so I aren't sure exactly what to do in that respect.

No need to apologise for many features Girts23 the filter is great :D
