Newbie Erica Synths Swamp Vactrol question

Post by skipjones » Wed Sep 15, 2021 6:40 am

I am relatively new to modular synthesis. I've built several kits so far- a complete Paia 9700 rig, (a Paia FatMan and Theremax as well, off the mod synth trail) and five Euro modules in a TipTop Audio Happy Endings rack. I'm learning a lot as I go. I'm starting work on the Erica Synths Swamp and am wondering about the orientation of the VTL5C3 optocouplers- I've never used them before. Can I safely assume that the longer lead (anode) on the LED side of the vactrol goes to the pad marked "+" on the PCB? (that would put the logo/lettering on the component facing up, which would make sense I think). Also- does anyone know where I can get the schematic for this, it's v.1.2 June 2017? I saw a link earlier in another thread but it went nowhere. Thanks for any help you might provide.

Thank you pugix, I appreciate the help. Your pictures answered my question somewhat but I will track down the manufacturers specs to be sure. Beautiful build!- and thanks for the sound files. Now I have an idea what this thing can do- I can't wait to get started on it.
