Over on the FB group "the Wigglers" there has been some discussion with Joshua (Toppobrillo) at the possibility of another run of the Sport Modulator. He flagged 100 orders as making it worth his while, so this is a post to assess interest.
There he has listed several improvements for its successor.
He said:
"ok. while we're taking this seriously, let's consider what could (easily) be done to improve it. I've had designs on a sort-of 're imagining' of a functional successor but in the interest of keeping it short and simple for a small production run, at very least ,any obvious feature improvements/ requests? I've got so far in mind- attenuverting CV input, normalled to the 'end' output potentially, for a 'skew' control when unpatched, *perhaps* a 2nd CV input that is scaled v/oct roughly, buttons that remember their state (or toggle switches), bicolor LEDs, a HOLD LED to make it easier to see what mode you're in.. STRETCH goals- built in random source patch, on a switch, pretty easy to do, will prevent the SM from latching up in that mode too, a sync/reset input (this is to differentiate (no pun intended) the SM from somethin like a DUSG which has a trigger input) also easy, a mix output with an xfade between the top and bottom channel.. thats all i got thus far. I still like the interface simple (if a bit too simple) and compact. "
If you're like me, i've been hunting for a used SM for years! This is very exciting. Anyone have any other simple suggestions for improvement?
