The only button combo I think you really have to remember is to press and hold the top left and bottom right buttons to clear all assignments. I usually do this when I'm starting a new patch and make the assignments as I go to make it easier to keep track of what's going on.

That's right, I do this very often :hihi:

Ha! Finally read the whole manual. I read it when I first bought it but I guess it didn't take. Now I totally get it. I think I just forgot what the first knob did and was probably unknowingly chaining the crap out of everything. Can't wait to use my "new" module! My only question is: How do you tell which mode you're in? Default or alternate? (I'm not at home right now.)

The mode LED (on the right) will flash.

@Dcramer technically it's possible but I'm not sure about the UI. Right now it relies on brightness, which is not great already, if there were 5 or 6 levels it might be too difficult to tell them apart? Will think about it, or if you have any suggestions ...
I’ve been using mine lots and thinking about a simple way to denote/display more attentuator levels;

I’m thinking that when setting CV levels it shows you a dimming LED colour and then a different dimming colour for inverted, so why not just use all four colours? Two for positive modulation and two for negative modulation, each colour would still have the same few dimming stages so they’re easy to recognize but you’d get twice the number of attenuation steps! :sb: :sb: :sb:

And regarding the CV matrix, I am literally ‘the dumb’ like the man that brains forgot, my big worry with Quadrax was never being able to remember how to set the CVs. All I need to do is remember the difference between the long button press (magenta) and the short press for the left hand row. And then I’m golden, it’s simple and really worthwhile because it’s so flexible; you can have only one or two CVs patched in but have them bussed all over the place doing different things :hail:

Does anyone know what the latency of quadrax is?

Latency as in how long does it take to fire when it gets a trigger?

I hope it is less. Got mine only very recently, will have to verify. But you know what you are talking about, right?

Given that they work for Intellijel, I would take the answer as authoritative.

Quadrax can be complicated but it doesn't have to be. I just leave mine as 4 envelope generators with CV over decay. Sometimes change modes between AD and ASR, and that's it, it's exactly what I wanted, nothing more, nothing less, nothing to remember

I don't own one yet but what do people find complicated about it? I was watching video tutorials and it seemed somewhat straightforward.

I like the Quadrax, but in my opinion the other Modes the AD and ASR are very unintuitive. Can't use without Manual.

An Attanuator Expansion would be cool.

The process for programming the modulation matrix can feel a little complicated- I was occasionally confused until I realized that the blue LED on the left side corresponds to the blue labels for CV inputs A,B,C,D.

While it would have been more intuitive (to me) to select the modulation source, then the destination channel, then the destination parameter, I understand that the intent is probably to work on one channel at a time (select channel, then modulation source, then parameter).

But, yeah, short of making the module huge or adding a display and menu system, I don’t think Quadrax could be made much less complicated without removing features. It’s damn near the perfect module for my purposes.
