The word "booty" really does apply to this one.
I really hope that means you were dressed as a pirate.

I also have a 2019 13" intel i7 macbook pro and all it gets used for now is sitting on the couch with the cat on my lap, watching YouTube/movies. Should probably sell it.
Thats exactly what I use my 2013 mbp for. My pride and joy for several years, now a heating pad for cats and a youtube screen.

Re: NONLINEAR LABS C15 DIGITAL SYNTH

Well, poly-AT is not very useful in most performance contexts I think. And as Abruzzi says, there are no commercial poly-AT keyboards from manufacturers like Fatar. But there is a workaround - you can split the keyboard with the same patch on each section and assign aftertouch to one side and not th...

Re: MPE users: your opinion now?

I think the key to using MPE effectively is very much a practice in subtlety - it's easy to crank the modulation on a bunch of assignments and create something incoherent and unmanageable. Judiciously applied though, it can replace a lot of the deterministically automated CV function generators in ...

Re: NONLINEAR LABS C15 DIGITAL SYNTH

I just installed the latest update which provides midi host functionality. I just happened to have a Roland midi interface lying around so I am now listening to some arpeggios driven by the KSP... I was initially all for the non-midi nature of the machine but this is a very exciting development. If ...

Re: Moog ladder filter is overrated

The only filter worth using on a synth is in the Novation Summit. All the rest are diseased. Comments like that, are why you’re common. Get over yourself. Lol. Some folks are the same everywhere they go. I find most of my filter impressions come from a wide variety of instruments. However, I vastly...

Anyone got opinions on a good mono synth to complement the super six? I currently own the Subsequent 37 which is basically the perfect modern bass and leads machine but eyeing off the Pro3 cautiously 8-)
The Pro 3 is bloody amazing. I know nothing about synths but I'm right about this.

Re: The sociology of dust on gear

I'm not as meticulous as I could be, but I do hate dust on surfaces. The C15 is easy to keep clean because it only has one knob, but devices with lots of knobs can be a pain to clean. But oh the joy of having a clean keyboard  Then the cats sit on them.

Re: EMS Synthi waiting list

Has there ever been a situation like the waiting list for an EMS synth? It's really something. I have seen a few a kickstarters take 3 years, and I have paid in full for a few modules that took a year+ plus longer than expected, but the people here who have paid and have been waiting almost 10 year...

Re: Emerging gear decision approaching

I've watched the financial hard limits for my retired father fade, who at 70yo is finally able to justify nice purchases for his music passion while his other passions (motor sport, cycling, travel, game fishing) have been taken from him over the decades due to his ageing and health. He doesn't pla...

Re: Moog ladder filter is overrated

The OP took fire at the Minimoog filter, and later contributers appear to extend this to to all Moog ladder filters. Mmm. The Moog GM filter (based on the 904 module) sounds quite distinct and more musical to me compared to the Minimoog one, which was one reason I chose the GM over the 'D' reissue....

I’ve never had a Moog but I prefer the OTA filter on the Pro 3 to the ladder filter. It’s smoother and cleaner and I like that.

Who's upset? :despair: I think it's cool that it's Reaktor based because that means that it will be possible to implement other synthesis engines in the future. All the better.

Re: NONLINEAR LABS C15 DIGITAL SYNTH

It's not just Reaktor though, that makes it appear like it's no different to running Reaktor on the PC but it's a lot more than that. There are three processors, an ARM that handles the keyboard with very high resolution, an Intel i3 that handles the sound engine, and an ARM that handles the UI. Th...

Re: Electronic music - composition and abstract story telling.

funnily after leaving this topic for a while - i realised that the story-telling aspect im looking for very much relates to a story told between the music elements . By focusing my efforts, i'm sering more what it is. and i can see i'm fairly happy with the idea of non - literate/non representative...
