Re: Quadrature LFOs, PH-8 Style... how else to do it?

Hope that helps and cheers! :guinness: That’s actually a huge help Flo, thank you. I haven’t seen this written anywhere. Cheers! My pleasure, I had to do some tests for that description and actually wasn't entirely aware of the subtle differences with the various waveforms. So, I learned something ...

Re: Quadrature LFOs, PH-8 Style... how else to do it?

The thing I don’t understand about the Cwejman ph-8 - does the high gate output mute one of the 8 outputs in phase, or all 8 at the same time, or a different way? It mutes all 8 at the same time, but the behaviour seems to differ between the left (sine / tri) and right (saw / square) sections... Mu...

Re: Cwejman CTG-VC Polarized output

I think of the level CV as a ring modulator (four quadrant multiplier) on the envelope output. Lots of fun for envelope bursts, for example.

Re: Frequency Shifter

Does that mean it’s possible to patch a frequency shifter using an oscillator and two identical four quadrant multipliers? If your carrier oscillator is a quadrature oscillator and you have a 90 degree phaseshift network for the external input, plus some mixing and inversion, then yes. http://hinto...

If you've got a quadrature VCO of some kind, you can ringmod a sine and cosine (90 degrees off) to get a sine one octave higher.
You can also just mult a sine to both ringmod inputs for an octave up sine :tu: Or (in phase) triangle and square waves for a saw an octave up.

Re: Do high end mixers matter?

@Carousel I'm curious to know how your experience with the tube summing mixer will turn out as it's something I'd be interested to do in the future too. Tegeler seems to make very nice gear too + with 40 channels you should be good for a while ! Analog summing mixers seem to be a nice solution for ...

Digging this one back out of the grave again.. So I've never had an opportunity to try this module and growing curious about it. Re: cwejman res-4

That is standard resonator / RES4 behaviour, nothing to worry about. The modulator "excites" it so it starts to oscillate, more so if you increase the resonance of course. You can also ping it that way with a trigger to the freq CV (it's a different sound than pinging the audio input), but watch you...

I know it outputs from a single jack put can you put a stereo source in and get results?
Sure, but the "result" will be a mono signal (mixed L and R if you use the two audio inputs for stereo) :tu:

I've been lusting over the stereo version but it seems you have to order directly from the states. No dealers in EU. Funky Junk carries some Overstayer stuff, but they don't list the Modular Channel. I suppose you could ask them about it if you want them to import it for you. I've got a Stereo Volt...

All controls remain offsets when using CV on the RES4. There aren't any controls for the master level, so that CV input cannot override anything :tu:

+1, and no saturation dialed in. I've used the MMF1s for 4-voice paraphonic chords / stabs and got fantastic results.

Re: Reggae Tone BEAT!

You absolutely do not need Euclidean rhythms to do that. Simple 8 step (0.5 bar) 4/4 sequence. Straight kick on 1 and 5, "snare" (or whatever) on 1, 4, and 7. Which you can totally see him programming in the video :tu: Can I do this with the old Pam's? That only divides / multiplies, so you could d...

Re: Polyphony/legato sense check (and hello)

Let me try to rephrase the problem... If you hold a key with a (single zone, non-AI) poly keyboard and then press a second one while still holding the first, the keyboard cannot possibly know whether that should be a mono legato line or a duophonic chord. It always produces the latter (ignoring maxi...

Re: When does filter attack time become irrelevant? (Maths geeks?)

It also depends on the playing. A single note is different than a fast repeated staccato - because the attack will start where the release is at currently (in proper envelopes, that is). You can kind of "open up" the attack dynamically playing like that.
