Re: Teenage Engineering PO Modular 400

If you want to get something that looks good, there is no doubt that the TE is great in terms of industrial design, and the colour alone has me sold. However, for starting in modular IMHO it is not the machine you want. If you wish to keep to a similar budget I think you would be much better off sta...

Youth (Martin Glover) is a favourite of mine. Many happy memories of him playing with Killing Joke, and I always thought that Charlie Tumahai (RIP) was a great player.

Re: Book recommendation on modular synths?

Blowing my own horn again-- In my sig line, you will find a link to a book I put together out of class notes from 40 years of teaching synthesis. It's $20 from Lulu, who generally get it to you within a week. I've gotten some nice comments from members here.... This is a ' must buy.' Highly recomme...

Re: Book recommendation on modular synths?

The best book I have found is the Allen Strange "Electronic Music: Systems, Techniques and Controls”. It’s out of print so you need to search for it but well worth a read. Although member j450nn014n is organising a reprint with the blessings of the late Allen Strange's family. Have a look here: htt...

Do you realise that Zappa was very disappointed with this system after all the hype? He dumped it and bought a Synclavier instead. So it seems strange putting this on a pedestal when he never liked it or used it for his music. Graham Hinton should stick to talking down people about their inferior p...

I might be interested in resurrecting this design, but i have a lot on my plate as far as new releases go. so probably wouldn't be able to get to this project until next year. That's all I need - a bit of hope! Thank you. I haven't been able to find a picture od the EK-9 panel either. Doepfer used ...

I certainly do not have the necessary skills to produce something like this, but would be very interested if someone could make one!

Shepard Tone Generator in DIY?

I have long been fascinated by Shepard tones and was wondering whether there is diy generator project. I presume that it would have to be digital rather than use a whole case full of sine wave generators and VCFs etc. I would love to be able to produce Shepard-Risset glissandos from a single module,...
