Re: Jomox ALPHA BASE

I don't understand when ppl say AB has a bad ui, for me it's the most logical and simple way to control drum machine... it's like driving a car or maybe tractor : ) Comparing it to Elektron or Sequential or even TR8s... Jomox is very logical and easy I agree. I don't quite get the "bad UI/workflow"...

Re: Dialectical Synthesis: weekly, multi-person modular twitch stream!

Does twitch have to be live or can things be watched afterwards? 3pm EST is my noon and I'm not likely to ever have time for watching streams at that hour. (fixed the link - I think MW is mishandling twitch links) Yup, you can watch afterwards! The videos are live for about 7 days after the broadca...

Dialectical Synthesis: weekly, multi-person modular twitch stream!

Hello! I wasn't quite sure what forum to put this in so this feels most appropriate (I searched for other twitch links and couldn't find it). A few friends and I have been doing something that has proven to be quite difficult but we've finally got it smooth: we do a twitch stream exploring each othe...

Re: headphone out

I have and really like the Befaco Out (v3). It's got stereo out, headphones out, and a switchable cue as well.

Note to everyone, Zoom portable recorders are not the same as Zoom the internet collaboration technology.
Hah, embarrassing. Sorry for the noise!

Re: Re:

Mmm. Very interested. My Analog RYTM has a worried look at the moment ... the work flows will be drastically different between jomox/elektron products Hmmmm, a collaboration drum machine between Jomox and Elektron. That would be something very tasty indeed. I think Cirklon and Alphabase would be th...

Re: How to reduce noise when recording modular on a Zoom?

There is a setting somewhere in zoom that says “don’t auto adjust my volume” and you’ll want to make sure that is off. Otherwise zoom does compress things and change your audio and I don’t really know what to do about that. Some friends and I have a conversational modular twitch stream and we used t...

Re: Why are so many vendors/manufacturers low or out on stock?

I would be curious to know where in the supply chain things are breaking. For example, it seems like Verbos Electronics don't seem to be manufacturing much but they have their own pick and place machine (iiuc), so I assumed most of their stuff was coming from China and then manufactured in-house in ...

Re: Jomox ALPHA BASE

I started sequencing my alpha base with a cirklon and it’s like a whole new world. I’m kinda wishing there was an option for all the voices but without the alpha base sequencer (could save on space or maybe add more knobs). can you elaborate? are you just triggering the instruments from the Cirklon...

Re: Eurorack brand philosophies?

Verbos - “sounds good at 4am in the club” That’s almost a direct quote from Mark Verbos. The context was he felt his modules should sound good at 4am even if the club is dark and Smokey; that’s it’s hard to make a mistake and easy to evolve a patch. I think this is why he prefers sliders on a lot of...

Re: Are Powered Cases Too Expensive?

My takeaway from this is: eurorack cases are complex and niche enough that they benefit from neighter simple, cheap components nor economies of scale. But for the folks arguing about Behringer: just because behringer is charging a lot doesn't mean they're expensive to manufacture. I wouldn't put it...

Re: Are Powered Cases Too Expensive?

So, this is probably a pretty dumb question but I’m going to ask it anyway (please be kind). All my kitchen appliances have power supplies. Yet, my electric water kettle is like $10. So my question is: does eurorack have unusual power requirements? Is it the bus board that adds so much complexity? B...

Re: Are Powered Cases Too Expensive?

I'm curious if folks know if part of the pricing around cases has to do with economies of scale? Eurorack is possibly too small and too fractured to benefit from scaling. But I don't generally know the size of the market or at what point these things start to make a difference. I am generally surpri...
