Re: 24V vs 20V input for HammerPWR

Hello! I just installed a HammerPWR and it works great! I'm using a Meanwell GST120A20-P1M power brisk (20 Volt) though it looks like HammerPWR also accepts 24 Volt input like the Meanwell GST120A24-P1M. Would there be any benefit in switching to the 24 Volt brick? Thank you! Hey CXLVI, a nice refe...

Wow James, thanks for the detailes explanations! super helpful! I guess if the tesseract Nutella could record, it would be the perfect module! ganular also could be quite usefull, as I use this quite often in ableton. now a question of choice! thanks for all the info. Re: Choosing a sampler combo for ambient, outboard, synths.

Do you have some tips regarding that? I would love to try that out. I am curious what kind of "players" have loaded up the toolbox for sound mangling. Do you mean like Reaktor? *edit* - I have seen your post. :guinness:... you can describe more detail though. An interesting subject for sure. Yes, t...

Re: Choosing a sampler combo for ambient, outboard, synths.

really cool! regardless of the audio, the first one was my favorite from that show! So after going down the youtube hole I ordered a 1010 blackbox... then found out that there is a modular version of it. I will test it with the standalone box, and probably switch this for the modular version. It se...

In my DIY case I have a Konstant Lab power supply & 2x bus boards, which seem to fit the description here. Re: Power supply for "bigger" case

Hello everyone. I need some advice on power for a euro case. I'm sorry if this topic has been up many times before. It searched the forum but didn't really find any good, up to date information. I'm getting a new case built for me soon. I haven't really decided on size yet but it's leaning towards ...

Re: Choosing a sampler combo for ambient, outboard, synths.

I really like that setup, super simple. It’s nice to work with just a bank of easily accessible sounds and something to loop them and mess with them to sound good. Takes away all the expectations of having a massive gear setup with a million things plugged into each other and allows just focusing o...

Re: Choosing a sampler combo for ambient, outboard, synths.

Another tack you may try is to do the sampling/recording/editing part with your computer, and use a Wav player in your rig for playing back and modifying the sound. That is what I do. There is a large majority of players out there that can do a ton of stuff and can access lots of files (600 files o...

Re: Choosing a sampler combo for ambient, outboard, synths.

This is basically what I do op. My choice after being through a few has been Machine and MC707. But then I tend to record loops of me playing phrases and chopping them rather than multisampling, although that pretty easy on Maschine. I’ve considered a digitakt, but I never seem to like the overall ...

Re: Choosing a sampler combo for ambient, outboard, synths.

Hey all. Some time passed once again. Time flows like a river. A little report from the field. Finally found some time to play around more profoundly with the new gear and I would say I do not need anything else than an SP-555. Currently on business travels (busy weeks) so I took with me a humble co...

Re: Replicating vintage digital reverbs on modern hardware (eventide space)

VVV 10/10. I have many vintage reverbs... I can tell... if I would be presented with a blind shoot out I probably would not tell the difference. I don't know how Sean made it but it seems like he captured the "vibe" quite well. I am using it since it came out. I believe the first version came out in...

Heya! I mean, there's a ton of ...

Re: Portable power solution

Wall sockets are 110 AC sine wave. That would be the wrong way. Inside those units is a battery that is by default DC. There is also an inverter that converts DC to AC 110V. Your eurorack power supply that has an AC to DC converter also wastes energy. So you have two stages of conversion that are w...

Re: Piston Honda MKIII dual morphing wavetable oscillator

Usually (in my case) that means that somewhere in the case is a short or you don't have enough power. Have you put in a new module lately? Or has something fallen inside? Have you calculated your power consumption right? Also some modules ar picky with the current distribution when powered on as th...

Re: VERBOS ELECTRONICS

Note that if you just want to advance gates in the VMS, you don't really need anything other than a normal output from your interface. You can use this sample as a trigger for example: https://www.makenoisemusic.com/content/manuals/modular-pulse.WAV You might need to turn it up a bit but it should ...
