Re: Mellotron options

Highly recommended - go for it. The M-Tron Pro is great and one of my favourite plugins. However, I confess that I use it as a preset machine as there are so many good patches. There are good capabilities for editing patches but in my view the plug-in misses out by not having a blend knob to cross f...

Re: Mixing modular in a DAW effectively

You could try the pink noise mixing trick to get a good mix starting point. There are numerous YouTube videos if you are not familiar with this procedure. For example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EerIGRBoIzw As suggested by Kubase removing the extreme frequencies is a good idea and I tend to do ...

Re: Thomann prices to the UK no longer include VAT

For anyone in the UK who was thinking of making a purchase from Thomann you might want to first check out the prices at Bax Shop UK. I may be mistaken but it appears to me that for some items Bax Shop have price matched Thomann ex-VAT prices but with the inclusion of VAT! This may be an algorithm er...

Re: Definitive "how to multitrack record your Eurorack"

Hi MarkSinister - I come out of the modular.... was using a Doepfer, but now using the smaller and more capable 4ms job. Levels are wonderful, just adjust trims on the Tascam and you are good to go. I aim for about -12dB in case I hit the screech button LOL. Also of course, you can run it through s...

Re: Definitive "how to multitrack record your Eurorack"

Hi - I now record onto a Tascam Model 12 as it has midi clock output - so when I hit record everything is tied to the Tascam, as I use a simple Doepfer MIDI to clock unit driving the PNW. So, I can record various outputs from the modular to either stereo pairs (track 7/8 and 9/10) or to mono tracks...

Re: Super Sixteen build support thread

Successfully built the Super Sixteen sequencer which worked first time. It was straightforward to build from the Kickstarter PCB, panel and chip set. The build notes and the video build guide are both excellent. Using the BOM I got the other parts from Digi-Key who I had never used before but were g...

Re: Intellijel Palette 4.5U Cases

That's awesome. Maybe a bigger case could also hold the PSU. Did you cut out the foam yourself? What if you cut out half of the thickness of the top, so you could also use normal patch cables? The foam comes with "pre-cubed" and it is dead easy to gently pull apart to get a shape corresponding to t...

Re: Intellijel Palette 4.5U Cases

I had been wondering about how to transport my Palette case and I thought I would share my solution. Rather than purchase the Intellijel solution I got a Max Case MAX380H115 Black (with foam) for £46 from Protective Cases in the UK. The Max Case seems sturdy and the Palette case can be transported s...

Re: Issue with AJH Synth Minimod VCOs' pitch stability

I have two Minimod VCOs installed into a Make Noise skiff with the Make Noise power supply. I have noticed that the Minimod VCOs take a bit longer to stabilise their tuning after being powered on than the other VCOs that I own. I also observed that one VCO did not really stabilise its tuning. I wond...

Re: Olitronik Circuits // Micron analog synth voice

I thought that I would answer my own question. I finally got a Micron kit at Christmas. The assembly was straightforward but the boards are densely packed so it was not quick to build. It is an awesome synth module, stays in tune well and comes alive with modulation. Love it. Highly recommended.

I’m planning to fill the remaining 8hp with a Tiptop one sampler and an mk4 Maybe worthwhile checking if other wrigglers have been able to get the Tip-top One and Disting Mk 4 to fit in a palette case as they are both relatively deep modules. I guess it depends on where the power cable is located o...

Help please - Instruro Divkid Ochd power connection

Santa kindly delivered an Instruro DivKid 0chd today and I was looking forward to a Christmas afternoon of modulation mayhem. The only problem is that my module does not have -12V marked on the PCB next to the power connector. There is no manual yet on the Instruro web site. If anyone out there know...

I am really interested to learn if anyone who has an USTA can comment on how it compares with an ER-101. I currently have an Eloquencer and I am very tempted to move away from the “grid” but I don’t know which would be best between USTA and ER-101 in terms of workflow and fun.
