Re: Hemisphere for Ornament and Crime

Hey everyone ! I'm sorry if the question has been asked before but which firmware would you recommend me for a first time O&C user ? I think the stock firmware seems already very powerful and versatile and I would use it mainly for modulations (enveloppes and lfo's) What can Hemisphere bring more on...

Looks like 19HP indeed if they keep it similar to the KnobCon prototype.

Re: Rabid Elephant PORTAL DRUM

for me it's too lazy to just buy a kick module to make kicks for whatever price your are willing to pay . As you mentioned there are so many better option available for cheap or better value according the money you will spend. i say it again: to me, the appeal of such kick drum IS about to have a d...

Re: Rabid Elephant PORTAL DRUM

Lets tackle this from another perspective. How many of us in this thread have spent months trying to achieve a synthesise kicks, trying to find the perfect kick for their style of music, especially if one doesn't want to use samples, its infinitely harder. If this tool saves you a) a lot of time an...

I'm wondering what is the duck output and side chain input are doing here ?

Re: Rabid Elephant PORTAL DRUM

Yep of course a lot of things to think about due to price but man. I'm going to go for it. I have not heard results anything like this from any other drum module and i really don't have the time or interest in doing multi module drum patches with brittle/impossible to repeat results. The demos soun...

Re: Rabid Elephant PORTAL DRUM

Don't really understand the hype behind a module that will reach the market in 18 months for over 800$.. a kick is just a kick in the end and I'm pretty sure you can make better sounding kick via computer and playing them back with a high quality sampler like the Assimil8or especially if you are int...

Re: Rossum Electro-Music Assimil8or

There are lots of sounds to discover with the PM feature, grab any waveforms you like and phase modulated them with simple samples from the real world, play with pitch and bit depth.. Or simply phase modulate, fm each voices with each others patch any modulations you got to it. It shines so much at ...

Re: Best Audio Interface for recording gear

Currently looking at a interface upgrade and was talking to vintage king today. Sales man was pushing UFX+ for thunderbolt if I know I’m upgrading my Mac soon. The unit is way over kill for my needs but then again more inputs would be nice for keeping multiple synths / gear hooked up and ready to g...

i've had my sh mkii for like 3 years but still haven't figure out how to like it. i can't explain, it just feels like all menus and fiddly bits for me. i got it thinking it would be an ultra frostwave fat. so here i am in this thread hoping 3 magically solves that problem even though it's all in my...

Re: Gotharman's Urano - modular groove box and Eurorack companion :)

That one looks and sounds amazing from the demos. It will make a wonderful addition to expand anyone with a Modular system.
The amount of modulations and effects on it is huge and make it worth the price tbh.

Is it possible to load in your own wavetables banks?

Re: Best Audio Interface for recording gear

I recommend RME total mix is a huge addition for monitoring and mixing without additional need of physical mixer. I owned a fireface 400 and upgraded to 800 for more inputs and the 400 is quite cheap second hand. I'm wondering if anyone has experienced with the recent versions UFX+ ? first time I se...

Re: The Schippmann appreciation thread

Thanks! Wild sound and I get what you say about the sound now, it does sound pretty different ! Different flavor, maybe slightly more rough than with a second omega-phi, it’s interesting. Do you have a phaser in the chain? At the beginning there is some phasing/flanging effect that sounds really ni...

I've been digging the Omega Phi for few weeks now and it surprise me the range of sounds you can get with this oscillator.

That FM Omega Phi sound is lovely, I use to FM mine with a Serge NTO but it doesn't sound as good as yours with a second one.

Re: The Schippmann appreciation thread

Sorry for the late reply! The DTG does have a VCA built in to each half but it can't be used in the sense that you are asking about. I plugged the 3 oscillators into the different reset inputs and whatnot just more as an exploratory thing rather than because I wanted the exact sound they were makin...

Re: Stillson Hammer MK3?

The Jr looks very cool as well and I think it will be released as well since it is featured on the last audio clip from IME. Always loved the concept of Adsr/vca coupled together in one module and those extra cv inputs will make it extremely fun to play with. At the moment I’m using the polivoks ver...

Re: Shop that accept bitcoin as payment for modular

You can clearly pay everywhere now with your cryptos. Just get yourself a brand new card that will convert your crypto into fiat currencies of choice. I know most of the common platforms have now their own visa debit card like Binance or Crypto even Revolut can do it.

As Gringo mentioned I would never pay for those insane prices.. if you are looking for a decent stereo filter the Dipole is decent sounding with its own character. I can't judge the MMF2 since I have never owned one but once got the QMMF and those filters were incredible but nowadays you will never ...

Had some fun today poking around on the esoteric side of the DTG and came across this situation where you can play chords through just one half of it: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bxQDiP97fY0Ttdqzy_kxH0LuV5UoGPMS/view?usp=sharing edit: the audio path here is DTG -> VCf1e -> DST2 -> A-132-8. Re: Stillson Hammer MK3?

Better not miss the pre order once it drops, I probably will get my hands on the Inferno and the Stillson.
I hope they will be available before the end of the year now in the meantime I'm still happy with my morphagene and mk2 version.
