Re: iOS MIDI arp or sequencer?

FugueMachine and StepPolyArp together is bloody fantastic. Rozeta is a nice little suite of tools, too. Host them in AUM and then get addicted to iOS music making.

Re: What is a piece of gear that you will never part with?

I wouldn’t sell my Digitone, 0Coast, or Virus C. I’d say the same for my Digitakt and Octatrack MKII, but I’m hoping for something to replace the latter, and I’d be all about an MK2 of the former.

Re: Elektron Digitone

I hope it's alright to revive this thread to share my 256-preset soundpack I created for the DN. If this is not allowed, please feel free to remove it. Since I got the Digitone a year and a half ago, I’ve spent a lot of time creating my own soundpack. This soundpack is 256 presets covering everythin...

Re: Which tablets support MIDI out properly ?

Samsung tablets do. I’ve used both my phone and tablet for midi out using a Mio midi usb cable. I read a quote that "some Samsungs do, some don't" which I suspect might have been based on how old they are. May I ask what tablet you use ? It worked on my old Tab 4, Note 8, and current s10e Tab 8 arr...

Have a look at Midihub.

MIDIHub is dope. I've had one for a bit but life has made it hard to find time to really explore it.

Tube amp or slight distortion is always good. I also like using an analog delay (Echopuss in my case) to help add some soul.

The Digitone has a randomize feature which I’ve found to be a great starting point for new sounds. What’s cool is that each page can be randomized individually, too.

Re: IPad as send and return effect box ?

I have a Zoom u24 with my iPad. I do wish I had more IO, though. It is battery powered, which is great for traveling. It has 2 XLR Combo inputs. It's a little larger than I'd like, as well, but it's pretty light. If you get the U44, you can add attachments for more IO and other stuff.

Re: Wiring a patchbay and mixer - cable quality

I rock a Saffire Pro 40 and Octopre Dynamic, plus a Samson S-Patch. I just use the short HOSA patch cables for my IO between the soundcards and patchbay. I also use them for the front patching. I haven't really noticed any issues. I've run this setup for a few years now and never had anyone say anyt...

All of my digital gear starts up to the last used preset or pattern. Digitone, Digitakt, Virus C, Octatrack. Which gear are you talking about specifically?

Re: Midi Matrix / Midi Routing

I've had a Yamaha MJC8 for a while. No USB, only MIDI, but it works perfectly and is super easy to program. It's not the most versatile (I can't assign to controllers to one device, for example) but it does everything I need and is super stable.

Re: SixTrak Controller -- Novation Remote Zero SL

I'm looking for a sub $200 controller for my SCI SixTrak to add knobs/sliders. It should have midi din so I can connect directly to the SixTrak. I was looking at the Novation Remote Zero SL because they're cheap, but the editor software won't work on my computer (the software is too old, hasn't bee...

Re: New interface..which one?

I have the Motu Midi Express 128 for the Midi. You can always look at used interfaces, no need to buy it brand new. No doubt. Most of my gear is used. I like the MIDI Express but it's only USB powered so I'd need to go a different route. I don't turn my computer on all the time. It seems like the 1...

What about the RME Hammerfall and then pick your own ADAT feeds? I’m considering that and then keeping my Safire and Octopre for my Analog IO?

This is the one I’m looking at: https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail ... -hdsp-9652

Re: New interface..which one?

I had a Pro-40 forever and upgraded to the Motu 16a. Its pretty transparent from what I can tell. It has 2 ADAT I/O slots as well and you can expand them beyond that using Motu AVB. Im using the ADAT with the ART TubeOpto8. I have a Pro40, too, with an Octopre for an extra 8 inputs. With the 16a, I...

Re: If you could only have one...

Probably a Digitone. I can't actually play well enough to make a keyboard worth it for me, so the sequencer on that thing would be very useful. I also love the sounds. Wish it had more voices, but otherwise, that'd be my choice. If I'm also allowed to bring a sequencer of some sort, then probably a ...

I just bought an OTMKII after having sold my MKI a year ago to fund an iPad rig. I realized that, with what I am currently interested in doing, the OT would be a fantastic centerpiece. The OT def. has its pitfalls and issues, just like every other piece of gear, but I've realized that it's a fantast...

I have the OT, which I love,...
