Re: Landscape NOON - Passive Analog Drum / Synth
I passed, but I’m glad it sold out. That dude needs to be rewarded for such incredible innovation and realization of devices like that. The benefits of sole proprietorship are apparent. But in a parallel universe, this guy and Vlad from SOMA are collaborating on some mind-blowing electronic music ma...

PSS-480. Filthy bass that responds beautifully to effects sends.

It is a larger machine than I thought it would be. He posted an Instagram picture of it right next to his 13 inch MacBook Air, which approximated it at about 12”X7.5”.

Re: Landscape NOON - Passive Analog Drum / Synth
This machine makes me want to pair it with a matrix mixer, for both processing its voices and for feeding it an array of CV signals.

Beyond excited for this. Definitely the coolest drum machine to come out since the Pulsar23.
I kinda wish Eric and Vlad would collaborate on some machines.

Re: Roland SP 404 Mk 2
Man, this looks great. An SP with 16 gigs, and all these added features. The only thing I wish it had, so that it would be totally compatible with my set up, is sync in. The recent Novation sampler has one, and it would just be icing on an astounding cake. But that’s just quibbling, considering ever...

Re: Roland SP 404 Mk 2
An Octatrack would obviously be the ultimate companion to modular. But even just looping sampled phrases and sequences with an SP404 would yield endless creative/song possibilities. Especially this new MKii with more pads, I think there is an argument to be made that it may even be a better workflow...

Re: Building a portable case for external audio manipulation and recording
If you do decide to maximize your modulation possibilities here, one thing you could do is get a peddleboard with a lid that is about 1/3 wider than your case. This will allow you to add and Eventide Mixing Link next to the case. This would serve a number of purposes, including having a DI box to ea...

Re: Erica Synths desktop digital Matrix Mixer
Wondering how stacks up against ALYSEUM MATRIX II. The recall ability is nice but without the ability to name patches you'd better have a cheat sheet handy! Thanks for the heads up on the Alyseum! Erica appears to have dropped the ball here. Even a 2 digit digital display (a la any alarm clock from...

Replace one of those envelopes with a wave folder, and we’d hear something that actually resembles malevolence.

Your wallet is not even close to safe. It is under siege, and coming to this page on the reg is the equivalent to letting the enemy enter the back door every other night.

Re: SonicSmith Converter E1
Their pedals were wonky and a bit overpriced. But the tracking oscillator and the ideas in play were interesting. I had their little Modulor A1, and it was a pretty capable noise maker. Just a VCO, VCA, and LFO. I actually have a tiny bit of seller’s regret regarding that little guy. I think euro mo...

You should be able to sync to plain midi clock. If you try this and it works, please post. Just tested with my Pyramid and it does work. Just sending clock, no notes. https://youtu.be/D9B9txdaDaQ Dope. I don’t think there’s a single iteration of the Lepzig that I didn’t want. Such a great sounding ...

Re: Erica Synths desktop digital Matrix Mixer
The 1/4" io is still unity gain at best.. seems like a (very minor) missed opportunity.. Yeah, but the cost on this thing is already prohibitive. If this were the final mixer in a set up, then it would matter a lot more. But since you’re already likely going into another mixer, it’s an opportu...

Re: gear receding, music haunts like a ghost
If all of is are capable of experiencing joy, then comparison is the thief of joy. Consequently, all of us also have an inner betrayer. If we let that individual take center stage, they will pilot us into oblivion. The only way to put a stop to that shit is to give the reins to the one inside that w...

Re: Erica Synths desktop digital Matrix Mixer
Yeah, I think this device is more about:
1. putting together a single patch
2. Cross-modding that one patch in 200 ways. So if you find a really good patch you like, this lets you keep it and explore it.
3. Easily introducing line-level instruments and/or FX pedals on the 1/4” I/O.

Re: Reverb and drone
If you are practicing and/or exploring, and you discover something, it’s worth remembering and revisiting. How many times will you go back? It doesn’t matter. What does your heart say? Some things may only be “right” a time or two. Some might be worth recording. Within this set of principles, reverb...

Re: Best FX pedals with built-in FX loop?
The Pladask Taken delay has a loop with the option of effects impacting only repeats or the direct sound as well. I've not had the right pedals to really take advantage of it or the Rubberneck - dirt in the loop is kind of boring. Just got a Mu-Tron Bi-Phase, so I need to give that a spin soon. The...
