Would you add uGrids, or an SQ-1?

https://cdn.modulargrid.net/img/racks/modulargrid_623631.jpg I’m looking to push past drones into the realm of industrial beats. So I’d like to trigger 2-3 percussion sounds on the Bitbox with either a module or a secondary sequencer. 0-CTRL is my master clock, Strega is my primary synth voice. I st...

I like the concept of Pamela’s, but Im wondering if any alternatives exist out there. My system is small. Im looking for fewer outs (like 1-4), but still synced to int/ext clock.
Horologic Solum?

There is a serious dearth of video out there on this device. I wish there were more examples of what this thing can do to watch.

Re: Announcing Strega!

Try as I may, I am not really getting into this instrument... It just seems to do a lot of similar/ samey things and these are mostly large, screechy, echoey noises. I have tried it with sound sources being fed into it, I have tried it being fed CV and Gate, I have tried it with combinations of all...

Re: Phaser FX units?

With the proliferation of eurorack and semi-modular synths, I think the lack of widespread pedals with CV is a missed opportunity.

I’m down for the 3 that have cv, but the other 2 I find are too digital for my tastes.
I wish more pedal makers would get into CV. The competition should be much stiffer than it is.

MF-103 still sounds the best. But it can no longer be had for $300 ( how would it be).

That dreadbox doesn’t sound too bad, tho.

Btw, you can still get a Mr. Hyde (and Dr. Strangelove) straight from AS in the UK:

Re: The Utility Modules for Semi-Modular Synths Discussion

Got my Workbench. Thing is terrific in tandem with the 0-CTRL. I’ve matched them up with the Mr. Hyde from Analog Solutions, the Modulor A-1 (Sonicsmith), and the X1l3 Shard (desktop), among others. I just ordered at Sonicsmith Modulator A1 to go with the Behringer Crave I just ordered. Had my eye ...

What music are you gonna make? For a lot of applications, you already have a lot of things covered.

Re: Announcing Strega!

That's great to hear! I bet that thing would super sing running through that Komorebi! (Sheesh, it reminds me of several pieces of gear we have in common though we have vastly different musical directions...) Strega is getting higher and higher on my list of things to get. I don’t think you would b...

Re: Announcing Strega!

I need to put that at the back of my head for now though, need to try out this set up for at least a few months before going and trying to fill out "issues" that I don't even know if they really bother me. I feel like I could easily explore the Strega for months like that. It doesn’t feel like an a...

Re: Announcing Strega!

Spent about 2 hours last night with just Strega/0-CTRL. This combo is deeeeeeeeeeeeeeep. Back to square one as far as learning a new machine and integrating it with my synth/pedalboard. Re: Announcing Strega!

Anyone compare directly with a Lyra yet? It kind of appears to be apples and oranges. I had a Lyra 4, and I can say from my vantage point that if you want cross talk and FM for multiple oscillators, you should definitely get a Soma. The delay and saturation are at the end of the chain, and so that ...

Very perplexed on how this thing is to be sequenced or controlled via an external means for using in a purposeful, musical way.

Re: Announcing Strega!

Since the enclosures are metal, should be no issue to use dual-lock. It’s made by 3M (just like velcro) but it is much stronger. It is the standard now for most of the swanky peddle board‘s that you see online. I have never had the 0-Coast. I love my 0-CTRL, and have pre-ordered the Strega. So I’m j...
