Re: Xaoc Jena, Drezno, Lipsk: Leibniz Binary Subsystem update!

Bitrate is an improper term here. It is used to describe transmission of data over telecommunication channels and storage, and not for describing the properties of a digital signal . For signals the parameters are: sampling rate and bit resolution. These two are completely independent, for example t...

Re: Xaoc Devices Moskwa II & Ostankino II available now!

Can one big Leibniz chain be created or does one need an extra Drezno? There is plenty of options already, and with subsequent Leibniz compatible modules coming up the number of possible setups will only increase. Perhaps instead of trying to make one giant setup with all Leibniz modules it is more...

Re: Xaoc Jena, Drezno, Lipsk: Leibniz Binary Subsystem update!

If i add a lipsk after the jena, will it affect the drum grooves in any way? Obviously not those rhythms coming out of the front panel jacks in Jena. If you install anything after Jena it will only modify the binary data which is passed along the Leibniz bus to subsequent units. Just got my Drezno ...

Is it possible to step through from 3rd to 5th to Octave via CV to achieve melodies?
Yes. But please keep in mind that Sarajewo is a delay, not a pitch shifter. The change of pitch is a side effect. It lasts only for the new length of the delay line after the change of delay time.

Re: Xaoc Jena, Drezno, Lipsk: Leibniz Binary Subsystem update!

While setting a synchronous regime on Jena, you have a choice between rising saw or falling saw signal models, and it will work best if the signal agrees with the model: a sawtooth not a triangle. Also, please do not use external clock with Drezno when Jena is in that mode, because it needs as many ...

Re: Xaoc Devices Sarajewo: Syncable Analog Delay Line SHIPPING NOW!

But we already do. That post on Facebook is ridiculously confusing. Sarajewo offers multiplications and divisions of the tapped and externally synced tempo by using integer ratios + 2/3 and 3/2. This is a standard set of factors that is employed by countless other delays, as it offers musical relati...

Re: Xaoc Batumi: Yes? No?

I have already explained that the waveform is selected by a COMBINATION of these two jumpers. Two jumpers create FOUR possible combinations: on+on, on+off, off+on, off+off.

Re: Xaoc Batumi: Yes? No?

I'm sorry, but this is unclear. What is a "saw ( no up, no down?)" ?

With both ASGN jumpers off (i.e. NOT installed) Batumi makes a trapezoid waveform on the ASGN outputs. It always did, nothing happened to it.

Re: Xaoc Belgrad

FYI, the rotary switch is the most expensive component of the module. It is NOT cheap. The little wobbliness is just a result of it not being screwed to the front panel, because it doesn't have a threaded bushing. There is no version of this switch with an option for panel mount. Please understand t...

Re: Xaoc Batumi: Yes? No?

Upper jumper only: saw up
Lower jumper only: saw down
No jumpers: trapezoid

It is all written on the pcb :)

Re: Xaoc Batumi: Yes? No?

Upper two pins define sync mode. Jumper present = tap tempo, no jumper = reset.
Waveform selection is made by a _combination_ of lower two pairs of pins, not a single jumper. Eg, both jumpers on = triangle.

Re: Xaoc Jena, Drezno, Lipsk: Leibniz Binary Subsystem update!

Switching between synchronous and asynchronous is done with the encoder, as described in the manual. You need to hold down the encoder until the LED display changes, and then select "I Off" or "E Off" and _confirm_ by pressing. This setting is remembered and will remain through subsequent power cycl...

Re:

Batumi - you can’t have both(sync and reset at the same time) No, that's not true. Batumi has two modes: RESET: the cycle is shortened each time a new sync impulse arrives SYNC: the cycle length is adapted to the period of the sync impulses (tap tempo), and simultaneously the first cycle is shorten...

Re: XAOC Odessa and alt musical scales

No, you cannot modulate the fundamental through Hel. First of all, please do not confuse fundamental (which is one single sinusoidal component of the whole spectrum of each individual voice) with root note which is the pitch of the base voice of the chord. You can tune the whole chord in Odessa by u...

Re: XAOC Odessa and alt musical scales

Hello, as far as I have understood, the 12tet scale does not affect only the 3.5 voices via Hel: I do guess that Odessa necessarily is on the 12tet scale even when used as monophonic oscillator... Hope Xaoc tech could confirm this... Cheers No, that is not true and was never said. You asked about q...

Re: XAOC Odessa and alt musical scales

There is a simple multichannel A/D converter in Hel. The quantization scale is configured in hardware to 12TET by appropriate scalling of the inputs and the voltage reference. There is no way to change that to accomodate other tuning systems, because that would require making the quantization steps ...

Where this "anymore" came from?. The expert firmware for Batumi was ALWAYS unofficial and unsupported.
