A bipolar vca can invert a signal based on a trigger tho?

Or four quadrant multiplier for whoever goes into a rage about these things
Sort of, but in any case, it wouldn’t stick, which is a requirement.

Re: Mannequins' Cold Mac??

Even without trying to do it all within Cold Mac, this is an interesting patching challenge. Of course, there are a number of approaches to achieve the end using combinations of modules (depending on what, specifically, you have), but the need to toggle between -5v and +5v is a little unusual. (Give...

Re: AJH Entropic Doom problem?

This module is currently a bit “under-documented”. There are a couple third-party videos and there’s the web page. I suspect that DreamsOfWires will make a new “official” video manual for the module soon—he tends to be pretty thorough. I will note that a lot of pots on AJH modules are designed to ov...

Re: Rossum Electro-Music Assimil8or

There’s nothing new in modular—but particularly in Eurorack—with having to manage different voltage ranges across a patch. Numerous tools are available for attenuating and offsetting voltages. Most folks need these tools. It’s part of the deal. I mainly use Maths, Mixwitch, and A/O/x2, but those jus...

Re: Er-101 vs erica black sequencer

Although in the Elo, the '16 step setup' is flexible in that you can change the number of steps per track on a given pattern, does not have to run in a std linear fashion, each step has ratcheting/probability/note prob/etc, and these configurations can vary wildly between patterns. Many of the othe...

Re: Er-101 vs erica black sequencer

Eloquencer still has some appeal for certain types of users @mdoudoroff - I'm curious what your impression is of the type of user the Elo appeals to. What is it that the Elo lacks which some of these other options fill in for? I realize there are various feature lists, but I'm not sure why the Elo ...

Re: Help deciding envelope generators

The A-Envelope Velectronic is a beast, it suites all you can think of and therefor it is not so pricey, it has four envelopes. The only thing you have to keep in mind is that tho output signal is very hot (10V). Never the less I love it !!! The Velectronic looks like an outstanding option. T...

Just wanted to point out that you should be able to whomp up the sort of thing with Droid or Teletype, and then elaborate it to taste. The former offers the promise of physical interface.

Re: Rossum Control Forge or Mob of Emus to replace a Maths?

Martin, I’ve subbed to your channel. It was one of your videos that was an inspiration for the question. Heh. Well, I don’t have CF any more, but Maths is still here. There’s nothing “wrong” with CF (or MoE)—some folks really love them (some don’t)—it’s just that if you ditch Maths, you’re most lik...

Re: Rossum Control Forge or Mob of Emus to replace a Maths?

What you’re proposing to do is replace a module that has a great deal of universal, general purpose functionality with a module that is complex and specialized. I don’t know what your setup is like, or your expertise level, but it sounds like an unwise move. I have owned a Control Forge (I made a co...

I think it sounds great, too. I don’t have it, yet, but it’s on my long-term shopping list. I have the AJH transistor and SEM filters (they are magnificent ). I’ve noticed that there are—or were—quite a few Sonic XVs floating around the used market. I strongly suspect that some people bought the XV ...

Re: E-RM Polygogo

this is not stereo panorama No, it’s a pseudo-stereo oscillator, which basically means you get distinct—but related—harmonics from two separate outputs. Certain situations result in imbalance, so the sound can vary in amplitude and harmonic complexity from one to the other. All the discussion of “s...

Re: Demos of tiptops 909 modules

My general feeling is that TipTop is not good at marketing. This assertion is based on many years of observation.

That said, I think they feel their modules are exact reproductions of the 909 circuitry, and sound exactly like a 909.

Seems to me like an expensive way to go, but each their own.

Thank you for the informative response. Sounds like the Vector may have the slight upper hand, but I guess since you’ve never actually used Metropolix, it may difficult to truly say for certain. Either way, they seem to both be excellent at this task, and it probably just comes down to individual p...

For something different, check out Just Friends. Does all kinds of interesting time-related envelope stuff. Bonus: a killer oscillator.

(NB: it can be hard to find, because each batch sells out, so pre-order when the opportunity arises.)

Re: FIVE12 Eurorack Vector Sequencer

There is also the 1010 music toolbox, which has a touchscreen piano roll sequencer. Although it seems that it’s no longer produced. It has a grid editor they call a piano roll, but I don’t recall any of 1010music’s sequencers being able to record (relatively) unlimited, arbitrary MIDI events. Perha...
