Re: Building a modular "complex oscillator"

Don't believe the thru zero hype, its a flavour not a necessity. There is not standard definition of a complex oscillator, soft sync is useful for some FM patches, and lin/expo fm choices are important. As you have the Toppo TWF you don't really need in built are folders if you like it. Get what you...

Re: Endorphin.es Furthrrrr vs ST Modular Oberhausen

I found Furthrrr more buzzy than warm. But these things are subjective. Versos Complex is probably the 'warm and fat' standard.

This raises some interesting questions about culture, race, classical music and the associated theory.

Re: Polyend Tracker

One thing I miss from the digitakt is the range of one-shot synth samples, classic square, tri, saw etc. - these would be great on the tracker because they would take up no space as all - anyone know where I can get some from? I've tried a search but can't find anything.

Re: Favorite Monosynth of All Time

I've had an SH-5, SH-2, Moog Voyager, SEM patchpanel reissue, and now a GRP A2 and a v1 Dreadbox Erebus. I miss the Voyager more than the others, big sound and super flexilble. Maybe I didn't know what I was doing with the SH-5 but iI found it a bit thin or nasally and unreliable, and I got rid of i...

Re: Announcing Strega!

....It just seems to do a lot of similar/ samey things and these are mostly large, screechy, echoey noises. Look up John Gee on you tube, there's a few nice ambient vids showing another side of Strega and quite an extensive vid by Sarah Belle Reid showing the versatility It has taken me a good whil...

Re: Dreadbox Medusa monosynth

The FM mode is a surprising addition. Although putting the analog voice strictly under MIDI control is no fun. I only use this thing with its own grid... I don't like the way voice allocation works now with the sequencer though. The behavior with note priority = last used to be, if you had an osc m...

Re: Dreadbox Medusa monosynth

I've only had a chance to have 5 minutes in FM mode, but its seemed pretty mega. As an ex Digitone owner, appreciated the hands on control and the filter.

Re: Dreadbox Medusa monosynth

Has anyone else noticed that when you do a clock sync'd random it doesn't move? For me, it just sits at whatever value it was at when I turn on sync.

Re: Polyend Tracker

^^ I swapped out a digitakt for one as well. I find it easier to create stuff on, fill function is great for unexpected surprises. I think the advice to check out the current bugs and see if they matter you is sound, I haven't tried to export stems and maybe I'm not using it to its full potential bu...

Re: Polyend Tracker

I decided to delete my earlier posts as they've generally not been sitting right with me despite having mixed feelings about my purchase.. Ultimately I realise that the last year has hit me HARD, both in my personal life and in my work life and had someone done the same as what I did, I'd be pretty...

Re: Polyend Tracker

Try doubling the number of steps in your pattern and running at twice the tempo. This makes for more steps "in between" the notes you're playing to allow for the note offs to register. Aaah! Of course. Thank you! In general, the tying of gate lengths so strictly to the tempo is my biggest gripe wit...

Re: Is there a way to play Rene like a chromatic keyboard?

There's an old video that explains how to set Rene up in MPC mode, from memory there is some logic in getting gates out, but they are synced to a clock input.

Re: Dreadbox Medusa monosynth

It worked tonight with the Erebus, but the erebus froze up with the key step so maybe its a glitch in the erebus.

Re: Dreadbox Medusa monosynth

Does anyone else have problems with midi out - I have 2 other synths that don't run on the midi out of the Medusa, a GRP A2 and a Dreadbox Erebus v1 that I recently picked up. The Erebus only receives gates, but not pitch, the GRP nothing at all (which I've mentioned here earlier). Both work with ot...

Re: Announcing Strega!

Is there jacks for the modulators, or are they just touch points? That would be annoying if you can't use the modulation for other stuff? Maybe it's the CV outs in the bottom left?
