Re: 4ms Spherical Wavetable Navigator SWN

I’m really happy with the results I’m getting pairing it with QPAS if that’s of any help. Me too. I used it as a drone voice > to Qpass to Beads I didn't modulate a lot the SWN (except the VCA and wiggling) but I spend a lot of time to build power chords and dialing each osc with different timbres....

Re: mannequins mangrove availability?

The amount of FOMO-fueled rage on this forum is what’s ludicrous. It’s an oscillator, folks. Take the cash you had been saving up for this one and buy a different one. It’s not any different than failing to get a seat at a popular restaurant. You’re not starving, you just need to walk down the stre...

The endorphines 6hp série is well-known for its unwanted noise. Had a Milky Way and the filter and they were unsuable because of that.

Re: about Noise Generators

It depends on your SH circuit. Some of them already have a gate to trigger built in. Others have the gate input wired to the LF398. That will track when the gate is high but it will freeze when the gate is low. It's based on the Schmitz version https://www.schmitzbits.de/sah.html the one without in...

Re: about Noise Generators

Hi guys ! So just to let you know few updates after few nights on the breadboard the Ronnberg circuit is working and nice but I have better results with the Cornucopia version (http://musicfromouterspace.com/analogsynth_new/NOISECORNREV01/NOISECORNREV01.php) I don't know why I didn't find this page ...

Re: about Noise Generators

Thank you all for your answers ! I'm not sure to understand everything but enough to keep that difference noises and try. My plan is to mix it with a Slew and the Schmitz Sample & Hold circuit (not the YASH) https://www.schmitzbits.de/sah.html and to add the Kinks Led indicator (https://mutable-...

Hi Guys , I've ordered a few components to test these different schematics on my breadboard. I will let you know the result. another question In most S&H circuit, there's only white noise, is there a particular interest to patch other colors into it ? will it be really drastically different ? ex...

Re: about Noise Generators

The 10Mohm resistor and 22pF capacitor in parallel will limit the bandwidth to 723Hz which may a little limited for synth applications. The CA3140 has a 4.5MHz gain-bandwidth product so it can at least theoretically hold the gain at 214 up to 21kHz while a TL07X with a 3MHz gain-bandwidth product w...

Re: about Noise Generators

thank you a lot ! I'm not about any particular noise because for the moment they will be sent to a bunch of filters , lpg so white noise could be enough, but I dig the red one ... it's the kind of noise I use a lot in film to emulate field recordings. so I think I will stay with the Ronnberg design ...

about Noise Generators

Hi, I'm learning to build my own circuits (THT only but with custom PCB design) and I hope to add a noise generator. I've compared a lot of circuits and an easy one is the Niklas Ronnberg's circuit (I'm only looking at the noise section) http://familjenronnberg.se/~niklas/diy/eurorack/noise/ but ins...

Re: Plinky. Non-commercial sampler/granular polysynth

So after few weeks with mine I'm so happy with my Plinky ! It's really easy to create amazing music with it and a very powerful instrument on its own. It lacks a proper low pass fiter, even if you can control the low pass gate, a filter between the oscillators and the fx would have been magical !!!!...

Re: A module for dark drones that eats modulation?

Maneco Labs Grone https://manecolabs.com/detalle/module-grone-drone-synth/ I wasn’t aware of this, looks deadly! I’ll drop in a vote for DPO. Tha sound is fat as anything and the wavefold output is capable of near infinite variety when used with the FM bus. All can be modulated. Benefits from some ...

Re: A module for dark drones that eats modulation?

Telharmonic was perfect for that when I had one in my rack. self-patched into FM with 5th mode, you can emulate a sunn O))) drone or distorted guitar, so easy to dark and shinning drones with the modes CW on degree or "in between" stage. I have a SWN now (sold my TH for it), but it's a dif...

I need to do a proper check (didn't test all the i/o) ut it works like a charm for the few hours I played with it
really blasted by this module. But I will keep it standalone for the moment.

Re: Beads vs Clouds

I had Clouds for years, if I liked how it could transform anything into a lush pad, I never enjoyed the interface, it wasn't a module to wiggle and some sounds were very "digital". I have a Beads and I find it better. The pitch-shifted sounds less like a "cheap digital fx", it's ...

Poor tELHARMONIC (telharmonic retired)

The tELHARMONIC is retired and nobody cares. No words, no social media from Make Noise. It was already one of their under-rated module, it wasn't often featured in their cool video, and you can count on your hands its appearances after the first promo videos. I had one for years (sold it to make roo...

Re: 9V battery to generate Offset / Manual Gate

so have an external small box, to send 8 offset variable from 0 to 5v (at least) is the idea. What I think you are describing will work, but without impedance buffers it's at the mercy of input impedances of the devices you are controlling. Which gets to be more of an issue if you mult the outputs ...
