Re: Unreleased Richter Designs - Pulse Farm

Yes, they do. It never occurred to me while building it that they weren’t meant to be a panel control.

Re: Unreleased Richter Designs - Pulse Farm

Here’s the frac version that I built on protoboard back in 2011. It’s a really great module. It’s hard to see in the photo, but there’s an array of mini slide switches that set the two patterns. I used test jacks for the inter-neuron patch points because I had a bunch of stackable (mini-banana style...

the LFOs, are they from Frequency Central? How did you make/connect the tap tempo buttons? amazing choices & realisations btw !!! thanks ... Thanks! Yes, Frequency Central. Its the home etch version, modified to fit 2 on a single board. The tap tempo is just a momentary switch that shorts a transis...

Pirx- thanks. The graphics are printed onto a white decal film with a photocopier. The sheet is soaked in water until it starts to come away from its paper backing and then slid onto the aluminum panel. Then it's baked in the oven to harden. Then the panel is trimmed to size and drilled. I get the d...

Not completely on topic, but I built a stand alone Neural Ag a while ago. Here are a few pics that I took while I was building it. If anyone wants to see better photos of the finished version let me know and I'll take them when I get home tonight. The case was from a laser Q-switch driver circa 1981...

Led sliders for ADSR

I have two ADSR style envelope generators that I built 5 years ago that I was thinking of repaneling with sliders instead of knobs. I have the ADSR knobs arranged two over two and in practice it’s a bit cumbersome to set them up. I thought a row a sliders where you could "draw" the envelope s...

Thanks for the info. I'm really not worried about it. I had just finished this recently and was giving it the once over before I install the 2nd board. Here are some photos.

Thanks.
I checked the sine at the drain of the j201. The signal is tiny and, alas, also affected by the waveshaper control. Pugix has a sine out on his. Maybe I'll drop him a line.

I brought out the sinewave to a panel jack (tapped from top of saw/sq4 and boosted), but its shape is affected by the waveshape control. Is this avoidable?

Another thing you could try is to make a planar cathode and orient it in parallel with your panel anode. This way, the current will be forced to flow in short straight lines from one to the other, and the etching will be more even (and possibly much faster). That's what I do. My cathode is a brass ...

I spelled it wrong. its actually 'rabbet'. Its a type of wood joint. It has more surface area for glue, so its stronger than just butting the wood together. Its the "L" shaped joint in the corners of the sketch.

Thanks. Yeah, the modules will be mounted directly to the wood. I planned this to be a finished instrument with all the modules predetermined. The idea being that I will get proficient with whats here, instead of obsessing on what to put in next and having it never be finished and a constant expense...

I've done this 2 different ways. For my first cabinet I bought some blank pcb boards (no copper, no holes, just plain fiberglass boards). I drilled the holes for the headers and epoxied them in place. Then I used bare copper buss wire to make the point to point connections. For the second cabinet, I...

East coast: subtractive synthesis. heavily filter orientated. Often leans towards the typical instrument patch VCO->VCF->VCA with ADSR type envelopes. Keyboards and sequencers are common. West coast: common techniques are non-linear waveshaping, dynamic depth FM, & control of spacial dynamics. Typic...
