Why that tax cannot be paid online on an app direct to the government? Dab in the "import number/transaction number" (there might be a better name than that). Pay . Get a receipt, code, barcode scan thing that the UPS scan to complete the delivery, green light on taxes paid. Seems doable in 2021. T...

Can't remember the breakdown but when all was said and done I ended up paying an additional 40% on top of what was in my basket. Bought a bass, small amp, a cable and some small percussion, came to £170. Had to pay another £70 after checkout to DPD to get it across the borderline.

Re: Thomann prices to the UK no longer include VAT

Got stung by import duty to the UK from Thomann recently while purchasing my first bass guitar. Assumed it would only be a couple of quid and it turned out to be nearly as much as the bass itself. Shame on me for assuming I guess. Hmm. I've got my eye on something at Thomann. Is not just 20% VAT pl...

Re: Sequentix Cirklon

Maybe you should just read the manual. Reading the manual is always recommend, however the Cirklon manual doesn't actually contain any information on programming and / or sending sysex messages to control other synths via the Cirklon. The only sysex information the manual covers is updating the fir...

I had an original years ago. Duirng the first revival of analog not when it was new. I thought it was brash and rather boring. I prefer the Juno 6, which I still own.

yes you can record full polyphonic parts no problem. Quantized or unquantized recording, move notes around or quantize afterwards.

Re: Sequentix Cirklon

I don’t usually do polyphonic tracks in the Cirklon. It’s faster for me to record and edit directly in the DAW. I don’t find the Cirklon adds much here. But is it happy with recording polyphonic performances? I do like a bit of random keyboard mashing with multiple fingers. I don't mind quantising ...

Q - a question for people who use Cirklon to record tracks
Good question! I too am interested. Whilst I like jamming/developing ideas with a pattern/loop outlook, ultimately I will always do a more linear/structured arrangement.

Re: GASing for Nord Piano 4, but keybed?

The piano 5 is an impressive beast, but not sure why it features two piano 'engines' and two rompler 'engines'. Just how often do you layer or split pianos? Yeah I don't entirely get it either! I can see it being more useful for the sample engine. I hope at least the two engines are separately addr...

Re: Capturing inspiration

Does it have to be 'captured'? Can't it simply be something you experience , rather than capture? You make good points but it has to be captured if you want to develop an idea into something more complete and finished. I don't think anyone needs to explain/justify the desire to create in its fullne...

Re: Octatrack mk2 / Analog rytm mk2 in 2021

octatrack is god, ... octatrack has remained ultimately unchanged since 2010 I wonder if there ever will be a sequel? You'd kind of imagine it would've happened by now. I suppose a reworking with more tracks plus Overbridge support, but otherwise fundamentally the same, seems an obvious choice. But...
