Re: PCBs as Front Panels ?

are the Instruo panels matte or glossy? I've never seen one but when I ordered black ENIG PCBs from Seeed, they were glossy. The Wavolver II panel here is from Seeed IMG_1908.jpeg I also got some black/HASL panels from JLC recently and they were also glossy. The Recti-Combi and Laurentide Synthworks...

Re: One big case or several small ones?

Do you ever have extensive patching between cases? If so do you ever find that problematic from a noise/hum/buzz perspective? Just asking because it’s an ongoing consideration for me as I plan here, looking at various power supply options/solutions. no such problems with my four Doepfer monster cas...

I don't have or need any of these but if I was forced to pick one it'd be the Selam every time, no hesitation

the others have astoundingly bad panel layouts, just truly awful

Re: Last Three Modules Purchased

I already have something similar: an Intellijel Triatt. How’d you use it all together with Maths? I've long felt that Maths should have had two middle sections rather than one, so adding an external attenuverting mixer kinda does that. Some ideas: * add an offset to channel 1 output and simultaneou...

Re: Last Three Modules Purchased

Make Noise Maths (I finally joined the darkside) tip: Maths is great, but it's even better if you add a second attenuverting mixer nearby. it expands what you can do with Maths. Doesn't really matter which mixer but a cascading/interruptible mixer with outputs per channel helps a lot, like Pittsbur...

as usual, the latest Pittsburgh Safari series. Bat/Crow/Wolf. Would have liked to order more than one channel strip but I figure it's a taste of what their future big mixer module will look like and I will likely end up ordering one of those... so not too concerned, and it'll be great for EQ for a s...

Re: Modules you didn’t know you needed (until you got them)

It depends: if you already have a few regular mixers in your setup it might be redundant. With 4 different 4 channel mixers and some mults you can roll your own 4x4 matrix mixer with the added advantage you can "break" the matrix at any point. The benefit of a specific matrix mixer is off...

Not to mention the Plinky for £800. what a joke.

one use case for max at least is paraphonic patches where you might want the filter cutoff to be somewhere around the highest VCO pitch

Re: One big case or several small ones?

I think the multiple-cases vibe only works if they are designed to physically fit together. Otherwise it's just an uncomfortable mess. This works well: IMG_0580 (1).jpeg In addition to what's in this picture I also have 14u and 7u cases and they feel like that weird extra wheel that I don't know wha...

am i just slow? do people feel they fully get all the uses for a module in a short period of time, or is it that it needs to click quickly? TLDR fuck the other people, just do what you want BUT don't go cheap on power supplies I don't think taking your time makes you slow, and I suspect your purpos...

Good to know on the v1! I have a question for the LPG masters out there- the vactrol really only controls the response curve, right? I really don't know why the Pittsburgh DIF was discontinued, seemed to occupy a fairly unique space.
