Re: Torso T-1

i got on the beta list, and their latest beta does have the ability to customize the knobs/cc#. and speaking about the t-1, and this forum - i'm trying to convince them to open a sub-forum here. i don't personally get on much with Discord, and the facebook site doesn't have much discussion. This is ...

Re: Waldorf Kyra FPGA Synth: 128 voices, 10 Osc/voice!

the initial release of the Q was seriously flawed, however. I do remember them asking users on their mailing list about whether they should hold off, or do an 'as is' release, and the waldorf fans obviously wanted an early release. but the problem was that they didn't tell vendors that it was very i...

Re: Multiple sequencers…tell me why please.

actually, i was thinking of another episode....where this guy dies, and then seemingly has everything he's ever wanted. But he gets totally bored, and he is finally made to realize that he's actually in hell, not heaven. "This IS the other place", is the line I remember Satan telling him a...

Re: Multiple sequencers…tell me why please.

yeah. some sequencers aren't 'powerful' but can be very fun. When i use my Matriarch, i confess that i really like the sequencer. doesn't do much, but you can step record the pitches, it can go rather long, and well, just sounds good. i enjoy it. there are other sequencers that are really very simpl...

Re: Multiple sequencers…tell me why please.

it's an interesting topic, but I note that it was posted in general gear, and not the eurorack forum, or a modular specific forum. there are so many 'reasons' why one might want multiple sequencers, that this is one reason that i posted (somewhat sarcastically, but i hope humorously) that if you don...

huh? I'm appalled if you were harassed in any way. But certainly my postings aren't involved.

I didn't find your posts to be very open minded, and find them to be very opinionated. I don't feel like arguing with you. That's all. and it would kind of derail the thread even more.

Re: Multiple sequencers…tell me why please.

because the way some people approach sequencing is that they need the limitations of said sequencer to somehow shape the sequence. so like to add randomness or a quirk they are used to hearing in their modular music, they need that particular sequencer because another sequencer simply wont do whate...

Re: Polyend Play

i almost put this up for sale, but reminded myself that i bought it to fulfill a need. So, it stays for now. but i mean, i halfway expect a v2 with sampling on it, costing more, because that is such an amazingly obvious omission. (yeah - i knew that going in). but the lack of sample mangling capabil...

Re: Polyend Play

mine arrived yesterday, and i'm trying to get comfortable with it.... i'm currently puzzled by one thing. Why do they include sample packs that the play doesn't have the capacity to load? I thought i'd load the piano sample pack, but i got the error that the play was out of sample memory. WTF? isn't...

Re: Waldorf Kyra FPGA Synth: 128 voices, 10 Osc/voice!

i read the SOS review. i think that if the review is very recent (not sure what the cutoff is) you have to buy the article. But older than that, they are generally free. This one should be free.

Re: Multiple sequencers…tell me why please.

Please explain to me the benefit and function of having multiple sequencers in a rig because honestly I don’t know. For example, I have a Sub37 and a Polyend Tracker. How do I use those sequencers together for maximum benefit? Or do I even need the sequencer on the sub? Thanks to you all for impart...

i don't have examples for you, but i think that richard devine has demos up. his demos are generally not 'cheesy'. Note that you can listen to quantum demos also.

Re: Waldorf Iridium

Hello Friends, do you know any good demoes showing what this synth can do in terms of experimental/strange/technoish (Is this a Word)/FM bass sound? In other words something that a modularist would like, I only find those cheesy Digital soundscapes/Analog emulations played by keyboardist just scrol...

Re: Torso T-1

Yep I’m looking forward to the dual MIDI out, and hopefully the ability to assign specific MIDI channels to the second out. Can’t wait for to the beefed up MIDI in too, giving us the ability to use it as a mega arpeggiator thingy using a MIDI keyboard, or another MIDI sequencer. oh - i missed that ...

Re: Torso T-1

wonder if i just can't find it in the manual (nothing new) - you can set their config software to use the midi thru output as a second midi output. Cool. But how do you assign a midi channel to that port? I'm not seeing how, and i'm not seeing anything in the manual about it. (hmmm - there is a shor...

Re: Torso T-1

I sold my t-1 a few months ago, pretty immediately had 'seller's remorse' and was able to land another in a trade a few days ago. it's hard for me to articulate why i find this machine so brilliant....often i think when people describe what they like about an instrument, they are trying to come up w...

Re: genoQs

i am so loving this instrument. it's definitely a rtfm instrument, hampered by the fact that the manual is incomplete and even incorrect in some places. The good part is that after some initial big struggles, there is kind of a logic to figuring it out...."oh, they don't mean column, they mean ...

Re: genoQs

on the bottom of the nemo display (row 4) the first 12 or so steps have various shapes printed on them. These can be used to modulate the various attributes on a track. i'm forgetting at the moment what the term they use is. choosing them is a combination of going into track mode, and choosing 'fact...

Re: genoQs

Glad you are digging the Nemo. Every once and a while I consider letting go of the Octopus, mostly when I am moving as the size is so big but I always reconsider as it is a brilliant device. Sounds like I should read the manual for the Nemo. I thought it was basically the same as the Octopus but sm...

Re: genoQs

my nemo arrived today, in immaculate condition. had to reset to the default state to follow the manual, but once i got that sorted, i've been having a grand old time with it. it's interesting sometimes to experience how wrong one was in the past. I enjoy those experiences because one can learn in so...
